The Difference Between Winners And Whiners
SPECTATOR.ORG ^ | 29 SEPTEMBER 2014 | DAVE CATRON

Posted on 09/29/2014 3:23:11 PM PDT by Extremely Extreme Extremist

Democrats think conservatives in general, and Tea Partiers in particular, are stupid. Here’s how to reinforce that belief: Sit out the 2014 congressional elections because your favorite candidate lost his primary bid to an establishment Republican. If you live in Kansas, for example, you can suck your thumb while Democrat ringer Greg Orman beats Republican Senator Pat Roberts. If you’re a Kentucky conservative, you can stay home and bitch about Mitch while Alison “Rubberstamp” Grimes heads to Washington. If you’re in Mississippi, you can stay mad at Thad and allow Travis “no repeal” Childers to win. That’ll show those RINOs!

TOPICS: Issues; Parties
KEYWORDS:
Catron simply refuses to see the long-term picture, as well as the trajectory of the Republican Party.

The Republican Party is what the Democrat Party was in the 1980s; while the Democrats are complete out-and-out leftists. Nearly all of the conservative issues that used to be the bedrock of the Republican Party are gone: Abolishing the Dept of Education, border security, tax reform, and privatizing Social Security are just a few of the many examples.

So please explain to me: Why good does my vote do if I voted for a Cochran, McConnell, or a Roberts? Look at the GOP candidate in Oregon. Wehby is pro-abortion, pro-homosexual rights, and supports Obamacare. You mean I need to vote for her just for the sake of perhaps winning a majority? And then what?

The author can pound sand. I am voting only because my Governor is Scott Walker, so re-electing him is a no-brainer. But if I lived in MS or KS or KY I would stay home.

They are getting worried, but not worried enough to represent conservatives yet.

But, I’ll be voting R in at least two of my state (CO) races, and I’m not even an R.

But I know and like Bob Beauprez and I’ve got to vote against the horrific Mark Udall.

Oh, and calling your base names is not a way to win it over. I move further away from the R party every time I read such tripe.

Instead, try strongly supporting a few of the base’s issues.

“those abstainers are responsible for the domestic corruption and foreign policy disasters of the last two years....”

Such projection!! We are not responsible for any problems. The Elected officials and those who elected them are.
such pathetic “I take no responsibility for may actions” childish behavior

If the Republicans cannot field office holder WE wish to vote FOR we will not vote for them. In Texas we have a strong conservative running for Lt. G’vnor. We will be voting for Dan Patric. the rest of the ticket can go to hell

No amount of childish petulance will change this dynamic.

I get the point but if “those Rhinos” lost... well, it would show THEM wouldn’t it? Yes, it would be bad in the cut your nose off to spite your face kind of way, and not in an Eric Cantor kind of way but... I can just hear the blaming, can’t you, if Mitch lost. But wouldn’t he and the others be just as out as Cantor? Somehow I can’t help but feel some fear is creeping in on some Rhino sympathizers and Tea Party haters. The masks have come off and we know who you are. If it happens as the fearing creeps and pants wetting Rhino sympathizers say, who can really blame those in Ky, Ks or Ms as they were crapped on and told to keep smiling. They were very pointedly told their vote was not wanted, needed or worth the milli volts of a digital ballet.

I think the RNC establishment is getting worried.

While I think much of the bile directed at McConnell is overdone, I am not convinced he is the best the Senate Republicans could do. McConnell has achieved more than Boener despite a weaker hand to play.

Cochran needs to lose, just for the dirty underhanded way he won the runoff by running like a democrat. He signaled his contempt for conservatives, let him see what happens when he runs as a Dem in a republican primary.

Everyone can take this guy’s advice except for Thad Cochran, we just have to agree to let that one go.

Winners fire up their base and reach out to the mushy middle. Whiners declare war on their base and then cry when there aren’t enough left of center zombies to carry their candidates to victory.
