Six weeks later, McDaniel challenges Mississippi runoff result

Chris McDaniel on Monday officially contested results showing he lost a Republican primary to Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran, revealing what his camp alleges is evidence of voter fraud and other irregularities.

"They asked us to put up or shut up. Here we are. Here we are with the evidence," McDaniel said at a news conference in Jackson.

McDaniel, a state senator, has refused to concede the June 24 runoff result and filed a formal challenge with the Mississippi Republican Party's executive committee. The case could eventually wind up in court.

The challenge outlined claims of more than 15,000 cases of illegal or questionable votes, of which 3,500 were crossover votes. The official state count puts Cochran ahead by more than 7,600 votes.

McDaniel is asking to make the case publicly before the state GOP executive committee and he anticipates a "hearing in a public forum."(continued)

He better have his powder dry, the RNC Establishment will not concede easily.

How many hard-drives will have to crash so that this election can be upheld?

The corrupt Barbour machine needs to be indicted after this blatant voter fraud. Obviously, they are still Democrats at heart. If the MS GOP won’t act on McDaniel’s evidence, McDaniel needs to take it to court. He also should challenge MS rules against running as an Independent write in. The bottom line is that no conservatives should vote for the senile Cochran, Barbour’s post turtle.

He wants a Public Forum. Not going to get it. he wants the Committee to overturn the primary results and declare him the winner. Not going to get. People in Hell want Ice Water. Not going to get it. Who does he think controls the State GOP Committee?

Good! But I think this is going to reveal a pattern of criminality - even Trent Lott, of all people, said that there is something seriously wrong in the MS GOP apparatus and they need to get to the bottom of it.

You’re wasting your breath, and like me you’ll get some hate mail for your post. McDaniel won this by losing. He could have been the better man, concided and then said he would campaign for Cochran and next time around have been elected. Instead he comes across as a sore loser and a big baby.

Are goal is to get the Senate and then get rid of the Rinos, not get rid of Rinos, and lose the Senate again.

I don’t see how McDaniel could condone the corruption and then expect to join it at a later date. He exposed the dirty politics, as he should. There may be a place for him later in Mississippi elections.

There is no point of having a Senate full of Rinos unless you like how Democrats run things.

It is no benefit to win the Senate with Repubs like Arlen, Thad and Lamar. They organize with McConnell and then vote with the libs. Clean our house first then clean the Senate. “First remove the log from your own eye so you may see more clearly . . .”

The SMARTER goal is to get the Senate and then get rid of the Rinos, not get rid of Rinos, and lose the Senate again.

I agree that McDaniel should continue his fight, we have had too many good men drift away who just conceded after hitting the GOPe vote fraud/ dirty politics wall. Some like Cruz campaigned well enough to attract the majority and beat the GOPe on their tilted paying field.

I do not agree with some here that “promote” voting for the dem, to teach them a lesson. We’ve been suffering from the purist’s lessons of empowering the left to the point of being at the edge of any American world.

Let evil thrive? We already have so much corruption in this country and when it comes to our own party we are suppose to except it? That is what is wrong today. Our kids see evil people thrive while those who do what is right are rebuked. As far as letting the cheater have it, we've heard that before. Romney cheated, lied and stole the primary, yet now they's talk of him running again.
Good people don't follow a party, but want integrity in leadership. That's what makes us different than the democrats. If Cochran doesn't step down he will lose and so will other innocent republicans because people will give up on politics completely. Want names of those who won't follow corrupt parties anymore?

Do you think calling us a purist is an insult. It's a compliment. We stand by our constitution unlike those who think it's outdated. It is the very thing that secures all our freedoms. Our children and grandchildren won't know what real freedom is if the republicans don't stand up to the left. By the way the opposite of purist is corrupt. If the rinos want us uncorrupted conservatives to leave, fine. Many of us are tired of being berated and talked down to. We are long overdue for a third party. Yes, it will take a long time to grow, but the way I see it, the two parties are blending into one, so what will it matter? I'm sick of being a part of a corrupt organization.

That’s a great picture of the new “Boss Hogg” that truly represents the people of MS.
