Will There Be a Consequence? (Can GOPe get away w/calling us racists?)
Red State ^ | June 26, 2014 | Erick Erickson

It was the Republicans in Washington and their allies in Mississippi who distributed fliers to Democrats in Mississippi calling conservatives racists, klansmen, Nazis, etc. It was a concerted effort by the GOP to beat their own base at any cost.

And here’s the kicker — there will be no consequence if they have their way. That begs the question of whether there should be. Should the Republican establishment in Washington get away with tarring its own voters as racists? Should the Republican establishment in Washington get away with comparing its own base to Klansmen?

If there is no penalty for doing so, they will keep doing it. If there is no consequence, they will attack their own base to preserve their power. They will learn no lesson. In fact, some of you may want to donate to Travis Childers, Thad Cochran’s Democrat opponent. I cannot say that I blame you.

Cochran will now put the highest bidders first. The GOP will carry out this tactic of calling you racist klansmen Nazis everywhere it works. I would like to see the GOP get the majority and oust Harry Reid as leader. But I understand if you think Mississippi can still be sacrificed.

I won’t join you. But I understand. If the GOP is allowed to get away with how they won in Mississippi, they will never really practice what they preach when it comes to limited government. There must be some consequence. I am just not sure what it should be. But I’m pretty damn sure it shouldn’t be that the base is treated as the battered wife of the Establishment. Right now that seems to be the case.

The GOPe is the stoopid party. They won’t be taking over the Senate by behaving like the Commie “Rats. Barbour and Rove need to be taken to the woodshed and be beaten within inches of their lives with a 2x4.

It didn’t go over well with me. I tolerated the GOPe before. Not anymore. They can count on no longer receiving my votes or contributions. It is over.

Now this. I am so done.. I donated to McDaniel this morning and if he does not run as a write in, I will donate to the Dem. What the heck is the difference.. Better the devil you know

Some high profiles are even starting to catch on that these Establishment types and their voters, have to be defeated at the ballot box to avoid the further rise of Uni Party.

Mississippi was the turning point. McConnell can be defeated now, with applying operation reverse chaos from the conservative side.

It needs to happen.

Mississippi doesn’t allow write-ins in such a situation or Independent candidates past January. If Sen. McDaniel doesn’t prevail in court it’s all over.

They’ve now proven themselves to be just as sleazy as the democrats. They did this for a vile fossil that hasn’t done anything productive in 30+ years..

There’s still the general election. Better to elect a Dem who is guaranteed to only serve one term than to give another term to this GOPe traitor.

Forget about the ubiquitous "us."

Has a state party ever called one of its own sitting 2-term Senators a racist, just because he dared to run for higher office?

Probably, but no example comes to mind. This sure looks like the 1840-1860 period, doesn’t it?

Taking out a leader is more than just taking out a senator or rep, it is taking out their tenacles, their networks, their hold on all sorts of perks, and their toadies. That is why Cantor’s loss caused such an audible gasp among the elites.

I support this strategy. I would like both, but if mcconnell is necessary to hold the senate, then a boehner loss will send a mighty big message — fear us. Right now, they don’t fear us. First, they must fear us.

The MS Libertarian Party has not listed a candidate for the Senate race. I wonder if McDaniel can be put on THEIR ticket?

Thank you for that info. We’re hearing about a write-in possibility from people who should know better.

This may be why Cruz made his remarks so early, understanding that with the exception of a challenge, the race was over.

Cruz innhisvremarks also may have been telling us that the Establishment PAID for the dirty tricks operation. I believe they also colluded with Democrats and Democrat activists to get the job done on the ground in those black districts.

Senator Cruz, who is only 43 years old, has forgotten more about the constitution and the laws of the various states than the top five Democratic legal eagles.
