Somebody save Rand Paul from himself.
At a time when champions for liberty are in short supply, someone has apparently convinced the original wacko bird that the road to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue isnt stand with Rand, but where does Rand stand? Because, you know, it worked so well for President Romney or something.
Stop me if youve heard this one before.
Ambitious Republican wants desperately to be president, so he begins what amounts to a nationwide pandering tour. To show hes not like all those other spiteful conservatives that inhabit his party, he pre-emptively apologizes for what his base believes, or even presumes to sanctimoniously lecture them why theyre wrong to offend the very people trying to dismantle American Exceptionalism institution by institution, cherished ideal by cherished ideal.
His strategy is to assume if he doesnt stand for anything now, he cant be attacked for it later on, despite the fact the Left treat all GOP presidential nominees with the same disdain whether they deserve it or not. When hes criticized for his duplicity, his supporters tell us we have to realize that so-and-so has to play the game now to get elected, but once hes in office hell fight for us. Of course, so and so cant get elected president doing this because people dont trust him so they dont vote for him.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
Sadly, Rand Paul is dipping his toe into the lukewarm water already soiled by the previous two GOP presidential losers. Remember when the Paul name in politics meant revolution, draining the swamp, and challenging the status quo? Yeah, good times. Thats ancient history now, dude. Puff, puff, pass the decriminalized marijuana, man. Puff, puff, pass....

I liked Rand early but he’s losing more and more most every time he opens his mouth now.
Sadly well said.
The nut doesn’t fall far from the tree.
On another site I’m getting hammered by progtards who insist that bradley manning is a right-wing hero. When I pressed for an example of any republican who supports him the answer I got back was Rand Paul.
Personally I’m glad he’s speaking out like this. It will sink his chances as candidate for POTUS sooner rather than later.
Er, no...I’m pretty sure that we live in a post-racial society, right? I mean that’s what we were promised, right?
Rands latest step to what our insipid ruling class calls maturing is to play the race card against those of us who think you ought to show photo identification to vote. Because nothing says racist like demanding people to show the same documentation to vote that is also required to buy Sudafed. How come when minorities have to show photo I.D. to get a library card the public library isnt racist? Unfortunately, theres no time for commons sense while Rand is pandering like this:
Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky broke Friday with fellow Republicans who have pushed for stricter voting laws as a way to crack down on fraud at the polls, saying that the focus on such measures alienates and insults African-Americans and hurts the party.
Everybodys gone completely crazy on this voter ID thing, Mr. Paul said in an interview. I think its wrong for Republicans to go too crazy on this issue because its offending people.
There you go, folks. We cant uphold the rule of law because its offending people. Viva la Revolution! Come on, shouldnt the surrender caucus have a libertarian wing for its big tent as well?

Ambition is unfortunately fatal to principle.
Yes we are all racist now. If you haven’t been called a racist in the last several years you are not making your conservative views known. That’s all it takes. You don’t actually have to be racist. (I don’t even know any) All you have to do is make your conservative views known and some liberal should oblige you by assuming and assigning motives. No, the liberal does not need to know anything about you, your true feelings and motivations, they’ll tag you racist just for having views that differ from theirs. Celebrate diversity.
I’m 6 feet tall, weigh just shy of 350 lbs and look something like a bouncer (which I’ve been) or a biker. Not a lot of people seem to want to get in my face, for some reason. LOL

It is a play on words from the king of RINOs McCain.
Do I know you? ;-) A couple of years ago now... I happened to be walking behind someone who fit your description. He had on biker leathers. Across the back of his vest was an American flag. Around it was lettered "Try burning this one a**hole" (without the asterisk substitution) Funny, I don't think he got many takers on that either.
Interesting. Thank You.
Thanks, 2DV. The article hits the nail on the head.
Rand Paul has been completely off the rails for a month or so and he just keeps saying things that further derail any chance he has of being a Pub candidate.
Rand’s dad, Ron, was mostly straightforward with his views.
Rand, however, seems to think he can pander to every political viewpoint that exists. ....Loser.
Didn’t everybody know that the little twerp was a political whore when he endorsed Mitch McConnell? I’d never vote for him, or Rick Perry, for anything after they endorsed that ol’ prune-faced s.o.b.
The Article seemed to imply that Pandering Randy was “implying” that all of us who favor Voter/Photo ID enforcement was “racist”.
Rand stands to win Iowa and NH. SC will decide if he becomes the GOP nominee.
Fax me some of whatever you’re smoking. I lived in Iowa 2/3rds of my life. Nuh-uh.
He’s turning RNC.
