Is there anyone else out there who thinks politicizing the situation is the wrong thing to do?

I mean I for one AM GLAD the various alphabet agencies are out there listening to the chatter and trying to defeat terrorism. That’s EXACTLY what they are paid to do. And I think a good percentage of those folks are actually patriotic, red blooded, mom-and-pop-and-apple-pie Americans.

But the flip side is ugly. Retaining records on Joe6Pk so that ANY administration in the future can use it against him is sleaze defined. We all know the vagaries of politics and how the winds blow and change, at any time it could become popular to discredit and demean anyone - for example, are you a MEAT EATER?

I live in Mexico. The Zeta’s have high priorities to kidnap many of the high tech computer geeks. They need these people to keep computer software up to date and keep under surveillance people they are collecting data for later kidnapping. I personally know of 2 people who are in hiding because of these threats. The Zeta’s have VERY sophisticated GPS locating, video cameras monitoring everyone who is banking, where they are going. I really don’t like it that the NSA is eavesdropping on everyone, but it’s one of the threats the human race has to face. I would hope that the democratically elected government knew where the Zeta’s are working and what the threat they are to terorrism and taking hostages.

Unfortunately....there are way too many GOP siding with Obama and the NSA on this. Anyone who saw the tantrum thrown by Michelle Malkin on Fox n Friends last week...showing her 100% support for the domestic spying (and comparing Snowden with Manning)....knows that the GOP is screwing up royally on this issue

The conservatives can really win over younger voters by emphasizing less government/less government intrusion...but looks like that is not happening

NSA surveillance fears give Republicans a great in with young Americans

The surveillance hasn't upset too many elected republicans, so where's the 'in'? The idea presumes differences among the parties that are deeper than branding.

The Republicans are just as much in favor of this as the Democrats.

Just like they are OK with the indefinite detention of American citizens.

This July 4th will be a day of mourning for me.
