(The most likely reason I’ve seen for Weiner’s mayoral campaign is that it will allow him to use his campaign funds for whatever fudging he has in mind. I’d imagine, for example, the campaign could buy him a BMW super car and he’d keep it afterwards.)
I know that many politicians have bought themselves mansions, to use as campaign headquarters.
