Immigration rivals agree; Senate bill will legalize more than 30 million migrants

The Center for American Progress says the Senate’s pending immigration bill will help legalize 32.5 million migrants over the next 10 years.

The estimate is only slightly less than the initial 33.5 million estimate prepared by NumbersUSA, which opposes the bill.

Both groups produced similar estimates, but couched them very differently, for very different political purposes.

The NumbersUSA group said their estimates were cautious, while the Center for American Progress (CAP) group said their April 30 study shows the Senate bill will actually reduce the current inflow of immigrants.

Their similar estimates match the May 3 prediction of a 32.7 million inflow offered by Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, the ranking Republican on the Senate’s banking committee, and a leading opponent of the bill.

In his statement, Sessions also highlighted the additional inflow of 25 million short-term and long-term agricultural, blue collar and professional workers over the next decade. Sessions has repeatedly said the inflow of 57 million immigrants and guest-workers will damage the wages and job prospects of Americans....

Which means it'll be 60-120 million. Remember, Eric Holder says everyone on Earth has a right to American citizenship.

30-50 million for sure. We cannot absorb that many poorly educated and inadequately acculturated people all at once. Our republic could not long endure. No country could do it.
The only thing comparable in history is when the Romans allowed the Visigoths en mass to settle inside Empire. We all know how that ended.

I think we should do the 1986 amnesty...

And by that I mean FINISH it, by doing all the things that were promised that they would do in terms of securing the damn borders BEFORE we even discuss any future amnesty bill...

I think maybe you may need to wake up and realize Marco Rubio is an Amnesty Liberal...and has always supported Illegal Alien Amnesty...he did so while in the Florida House

Actually, I've been awake on Rubio for a long time but glad you noticed my post.

Even some of my best friends and spouse are mad at me over my not backing Rubio.

I've been posting anti-Rubio and amnesty posts for some time, check it out!

Exactly. They agree that 11 million illegals will translate to 30 million immigrants, given chain migration.

But we’ve really got triple the 11 million they’ve been quoting for the last decade—and that translates to 90 million mostly poor, ill-educated, and government-subsidized immigrants!
