Obama loses 2014 wedge issue in Senate gun vote
The Daily Caller ^ | April 17, 2013 | Neil Munro, White House Correspondent

Posted on 04/17/2013 8:11:12 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The Senate’s effective rejection of President Barack Obama’s post-Newtown gun control bill robs the Democratic Party of an important tool for trying to regain a majority in the House in November 2014.

“Are they serious?” a visibly angry Obama demanded of opponents of the Toomey/Manchin Senate bill. In a late-afternoon announcement outside the White House, the president added that if Congress continues not to pass a gun control bill, “the answer will have to come from the voters.”

But without a Senate bill, there’s little chance that vulnerable GOP House members in suburban swing-districts will face the unpleasant choice of either recording a public vote against what Obama repeatedly describes as “common-sense measures to reduce gun violence and save lives” or voting against gun rights supported by the National Rifle Association and many Americans.

The wedge issue was highlighted this morning by Obama’s 2012 strategic advisor, David Axelrod.

“A bunch of suburban, swing district Republicans in House are probably deeply relieved that Senate appears poised to kill background checks,” Axelrod said in a morning tweet.

“Interested to see if [Mayor Mike] Bloomberg and others who’ve worked hard on this issue remain active in 2014 elections, holding no votes accountable,” Axelrod added at 9.43 a.m. EST.....

Let all of US make certain that this EPIC FAIL is the first in a series of FAILURES for The Stain.

Remember, when The Stain “wins”, America Fails.

The answer will come from the voters and the Golfer-in-Chief will not find the returns tasty.

The Mahdi was mad as h-ll about this vote. He takes it as a personal affront. I cannot remember a President other than Richard Nixon once or twice, who was so obviously full of rage over a vote. In this case the Mahdi is so narcissistic that he considers something he has done so much campaigning for this that it is a real personal insult. That is how his juvenile mind works. There is some sort of retaliation and attempt to use executive powers to give the Senate the finger coming up.

“All who voted in favor need to get the heave ho just like last time.”

All who even THOUGHT of supporting this should get the heave-ho—those that took incoming calls from Bath-House, those (Chambliss, Isakson-GA-my congresscritters) who didn’t support the filibuster, who wanted to “debate” the issue, should get the heave-ho.

Throw ALL the bums out—and sanitize DC.
We need new REAL Americans in Congress.

Agreed—Bath-House was too damned PO’d NOT to find a way of getting revenge eventually.

Hold your children close for the next few months. Anyone who could support killing infants in or out of the womb will exact his revenge just to try and prove his gun-grabbing to be “correct”.

Well there is this connection between the big time connected Chicago law firm that Holder was a partner in and the Mexican narcotrafficantes they have as clients, often disguised clients as some company or other. These people are completely conscienceless and could be encouraged to do a few ‘favors’ for H and the Mahdi.

The Pres sure got all wee wee’d up at the press conference!
I hope that this defeat drives DiFi over the edge into mental incompetence as she has been under a great pressure in the past two months.

Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?

...the president added that if Congress continues not to pass a gun control bill, “the answer will have to come from the voters.”...no, the answer if you're serious about stopping violence will have to come from taking on your buddies in the media and entertainment to get a handle the excessive violence portrayed there, and in taking on your buddies in the civil liberties lobby to modernize mental health and commitment laws - it's just so much easier to pontificate about evil gun owners, isn't it.......

I expect nobama is VERY upset about this. He needs this really, really bad in order to implement his plan. Which will be very hard for him to do if we still have our guns.

Likewise nobamacare. Another sector of the economy he needs to own for his plan to work. nobamacare will collapse under it’s own weight. That has been the plan all along. The collapse opens the door to single payer which is nobama’s ultimate goal.

But I suspect when nobamacare collapses there will be calls for all sorts of plans besides single payer. We’ll have to see where that goes.

If President Obama had skipped a few rounds of golf, and a vacation or two, he could have done it. He was just too lazy. Thank God he does not have the energy and will of a Hitler or Lenin or Mao.
