Now, and I mean RIGHT NOW, would be the time to call your Senator.

The GOP endlessly shoots itself and Constitutional Americans in the head. Why is it that the Dems are always united to defeat the enemy (us) and the GOP fractures and folds so easily and strategizes against its own supporters? Could it be that much of the GOP is closer to the Rats than the base? Why do they wonder that there is such a siren call for a new conservative party?

The Bill is already dead. The Bill will get to the floor, then killed with amendments.

Even if it does pass is some form, it will be watered down in the House and essentially neutered by conference.

The end result will either a total defeat by libs or a piece of legislation that no one really likes.

Redstate dems will have to explain to their ‘moderate’ base why they voted for GC and to their ‘left’ base why they did not do enough. The Dems have blown this.

"...the internet and “any circumstance in which there is paid advertising.”

This would most likely have the effect of firearm sales being banned from websites and newspapers completely, for fear of running into legal liability issues if the seller didn't bother with the background checks.

So once again this will do NOTHING about the common thugs who kill thousands every year and instead will create legal hassles for legitimate gun owners. Want to see a reduction in “gun violence”? Enforce EXISTING law in Chicago and other leftist cities.

I hope any Senator that votes for this becomes the victim of a home invasion.

I hope y’all remember how your Senator votes on this issue come 2014. I’m lucky to have Senator Coats one out of two Senators ain’t bad but it would be nice to have two that protect 2A.

Toomey, Manchin Reach Bipartisan Deal on Gun Background Checks
Wednesday, April 10, 2013 08:36 AM

By: Heidi Przybyla and James Rowley

Two U.S. senators have reached a bipartisan compromise to expand background checks of U.S. firearms purchasers that they plan to announce later today, according to a Senate aide.

Senator Joe Manchin, a West Virginia Democrat, said yesterday that he was close to a deal with Pat Toomey, a Pennsylvania Republican whose support could prove critical to saving the centerpiece of President Barack Obama’s gun agenda from defeat.

Manchin and Toomey plan to hold a news briefing at 11 a.m. today in Washington.

Uh, let's see. My representatives are:

Sen.Dick Durbin

Sen.Mark Kirk

Congressman Bobby Rush

Representative Emil Jones Jr., the son of Obama's political godfather Emil Jones Sr.

Who exactly do you want me to call?

Fortunately gun control isn’t going anywhere in the House. I got this info directly from my congressman.

The Capitol switchboard is in full meltdown mode and BOTH senators’ voice mail boxes are FULL.

Look up your guys’ LOCAL, in-state offices and leave a message there (not that it will do much good but ya never know, right?). Be sure to gently remind them that caving on this one will be equivalent to opening a Pandora’s Box that would be better left unopened.

Trust me when I say that the usurper’s handlers have all their stooges calling their support of obozo’s destruction of the Second Amendment/.

Internet sales already require going through a licensed dealer. Duplication of laws is a common rat tactic.

While the direct approach has its merits, a little sabotage can go a long way. In this case, start a rumor with the left that this is truly a giant bargain, that the House is also in on it, not just the Senate, one that they would be utterly horrified with.

The Republicans agree to more but still *limited* background checks; and they also agree to amnesty for illegals; and a continuing resolution to fully fund the government for the rest of Obama’s term in office.

HOWEVER, in exchange for this, not only will Obamacare be completely defunded, and the program killed, but also so will be Medicare. Over, finished, no more. And the Medicaid expansion will be canceled.

While utter nonsense, and maybe with some jiggering, this might be made just plausible enough for the leftist rank and file to think is for real. And they would lose their collective marbles.

Right now the Republican senators are being pressured, but they are such toads that they are used to it. But the Democrat senators would first issue lots of denials, that even their own people would not believe, and then they would likely stampede.

As far away from the gun control debate as they could get.
