Tea Party speaker fears financial collapse

Frank Aquila wasn’t 100 percent positive that former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney was going to win heading into Tuesday’s election.

Despite his strong conservative roots, Aquila – who served as a county chair for John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign and penned a book about the decision to go with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate – had seen too much transpire over the course of four years to count out to former senator from Illinois that cut his teeth in the rough-and-tumble world of Chicago politics.

And while certain parts of the election – like the Democrats winning a supermajority in the California Legislature to compliment Jerry Brown’s governorship – scare him, there is, he says, a silver lining that’ll come out of all of this.

Thursday night the founder of the South San Joaquin Republicans spoke before nearly two dozen people at the only November meeting of the Manteca Tea Party Patriots at Chez Shari. He broke down the results of the election spelling out the ways in which he has seen Obama rise to power in America.

While he would have liked to have seen a different outcome, Aquila says that he foresees a colossal collapse of the financial system as a result of the President’s failed economic policies, mounting debt, hyperinflation and the pending exodus of American companies that he believes will move overseas to escape higher taxes.

“I hope that I’m wrong in all of this, for the sake of our country,” Aquila said. “But we’ve kicked the can down the street too far and too much for something like this not to happen.

“And if Governor Romney was to have won, and something like that was to happen all of these 15 and 20-year-olds would have looked at that and blamed him. They wouldn’t have voted for another Republican for 40 years. If there’s a silver lining in any of this, that’s it.”

Aquila took on a pivotal role in supporting local candidates in the months leading up to the election – whether it was giving microphone time to Jeff Denham and Ricky Gill so they could make their plea about how they’d shake-up congress or bringing in Diane Feinstein opponent Elizabeth Emkin to talk about how to oust the four-term Senate staple.

But what he talked about Thursday focused more on how Obama is able to operate with impunity and how “Communist” ideals have penetrated and even taken over some liberal platforms – working from within the government to let the diseased ideas take hold.

“The Communists are succeeding with the Democratic Party,” he said. “The Democratic Party of your parents and your grandparents is not the same as the one we see today. They’re embedding themselves into the system because they know they could never overcome our military.”

He makes no qualms about his political affiliation, but pointed out that both sides of the political spectrum have their glaring weaknesses and its grassroots movements that will truly leave their mark on the system.

“I believe that the Democrats are leading this country to a quick death,” he said. “But I also believe that the Republicans are leading this country to a slow death. It’s the Tea Party that’s believes in liberty and is willing to stand up and save America.

“I think that it’s shameful that we have a vice-president that would call patriotic Americans terrorists. They don’t even call terrorists ‘terrorists.’ If you commit an act of terror in this country it’s a ‘man made disaster. That’s just wrong.”

Oh stop. :D

Palin would fight right back, and have lots of defenders.

Bush would have lots of defenders.

Romney had diddly-squat.

Robert Prechter has been predicting the same thing.

Crash & burn for the economy.
