In my opinion, Palin did not cost McCain the election. She may have been too green, but she didn’t that many mistakes.
The moment, I think, that cost McCain the election was when he lied to Letterman to do a preferred interview. When he was shown to be an outright liar, when Letterman filmed McCain getting makeup on to do a Couric interview, when he was supposed to doing an interview with Letterman, his campaign was over, imo.
That was not the fault of Palin.
Hundreds of thousands of us voted for the McCain/Palin ticket because Sarah was on it in spite of McCain being on th ticket.
