Big government conservatives will never truly overhaul Washington because they need the status quo in place to accomplish their objectives. They dont want to rebuild the machine; they simply want to change the people pulling the levers.
But that is not what the American people want. There is such deep and widespread discontent that nothing short of a complete overhaul will satisfy their justifiable demands.
The American people expect changes equal to their concern, which is the highest its been in at least a generation, and I am the only candidate with a vision that is as strong and sweeping as the public is angry.
While others promise to tinker with the status quo, I am the outsider who will overhaul Washington. Others talk about trimming the bureaucracy; I will eliminate the Departments of Commerce, Energy and Education, gut the activist EPA, freeze bureaucrat salaries and make Congress part-time. Others talk about cleaning up the tax code; I say let Americans throw the whole thing out and pay a simple flat tax instead.

I’m so proud of little Ricky, he remembered the 3 agencies he’d abolish this time!
Rick, you remembered the three department...but lets get rid of the DOT, too.
Cute. You sound like the press.
Speaker Gingrich-led Republicans
.the result: * Voting on each of the Contract with America items * Four consecutive balanced budgets * Over $500 billion of debt paid off * Major welfare reform accomplished * 11 million new jobs for America * Unemployment falling to under 4%.
What? The lib media loves Ricardo, because they know he splits the conservative vote so their darling Willard can slip through just like McCain. That’s why CNN invited them to their debate on the 19th even though he didn’t technically qualify.
When were those balanced budgets?
When did the National Debt decrease $500 billion?
According to the US Treasury, the National Debt hasn't decreased in any fiscal year since about 1957.
Whatever. I am not particularly a Perry supporter, but I’m sick of the “dumb-hick Perry” meme, the same one that was used on George Bush. Perry may be many other things, but he is not stupid nor a hick.
I’ve long held that republicans and democrats are much like Pepsi and Coke. They will advertise to promote themselves, but they are perfectly happy with their established market shares and they will join hands instantly to keep Dr. Pepper out of their house.
“Cute. You sound like the press.”
A lot of the rabid Perry haters sound just like DU dwellers. Some of them schlep around from Perry thread to Perry thread, spamming the same garbage over and over. The fact that Perry gets under the skin of these types adds more points to his column, IMO.
