That's good advice of course, but I have to say, if someone's computer can get a virus simply by visiting a web page, then they really need to reconfigure their computer.

There's no way that the mere act of visiting any web site should enable the involuntary installation of a virus on the target computer.

I'm an IT person, and in virtually all cases I've seen (barring some blatant OS vulnerability) some kind of deliberate consent must be given by the user in order for their computer to become infected.

If that's not the case, then security policies on the target computer are simply too permissive, and they should be promptly adjusted in order to prevent any possibility of automatically being infected by simply visiting a site.
