She hasnt set a hard deadline on when shell decide but last week at the Fair she said itll be in another month or two and hinted that it might happen by the end of September. I thought she might announce at that tea-party rally in Iowa that shes keynoting on September 3, but I dont know what to make of that now knowing that she has another major appearance with Beck a month later. It seems odd that shed be scheduling non-campaign events if she plans on being in the race and on the trail; then again, a rally with Beck about Defending the Republic isnt really non-campaign. Some people on Twitter who heard about this reasoned that its a sign shes not running because no candidate would want a prominent appearance alongside someone as controversial as GB while the campaigns gearing up. But hes already priced into her stock:
She appeared at his religious rally in D.C. last year, remember, and theyve done joint events before. Besides, hes also a fan of Bachmann and Perry, both of whom have been on his show. Palin loses nothing vis-a-vis her tea-party competition by appearing with him.
What does make this a bit odd is that Becks current top pick for president is Michele Bachmann, as of just four days ago. In choosing her, he limited himself to candidates who are already in so its possible hed switch to Palin once she declared. But Bachmann was also one of Becks top choices back in April when he wasnt limiting himself to declared candidates (Allen West was his first pick), and at the time he and his crew argued that Palin hadnt done enough in her first book to undo the heavy damage the media had done to her image. Hed have to change his mind about that too, I assume, to share a stage with her on October 7th unless candidate Palin doesnt mind a joint event with someone who presumably prefers her competition in the Iowa death struggle.
Ace thinks shed like to run if theres a niche for her in the field, but given the results at Ames and some of the things she said at the fair, he concludes she probably wont. Im guessing hes right, but it gives me pause that the next GOP field in 2016 or 2020 could be remarkably strong, much more so than the current one. Potentially the next Ames straw poll will include Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal, Rand Paul, and maybe even Jeb Bush. In the meantime, unless Palin challenges Begich for Senate in Alaska, theres no obvious opening for her to regain elected office. If she wants to be president, this might be her best chance. Even with Bachmann and Perry in the field to make things difficult for her.
I figured 91% what is your margin of error? Hehe
If you factor in Glenn Beck's magic underpants, it's like 144%.
Did someone move Labor Day?
I hope that she doesn’t because she is such a great Kingmaker.
Like myself, I'm sure Glen Beck has a hold your nose when voting for list and a hold your head up high and be proud when voting for list. So far Ron Paul, Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney are on my nose holding list. Tpaw was also on that list, but he's out.
Don’t think so.
What? Harvey's Discount Muffler and Tire isn't sponsoring this too? He has a one hour guarantee on muffler installations or you get a free set of steak knives.
Maybe it`s to throw people off for full surprise like the morning she was announced as McCains running mate.
I am only human, so one has to wonder, if she was a candidate in October she would not be at a rally that cost money? Or would she?
Just recently she said that a person that wanted to put in a serious run would have to declare August or Sept...now it`s a couple months away?
I support her no matter how late, however this is not good for those of us that are hopeful for Sept 3rd.
Maybe just to throw people off? I had convinced myself that we only had to wait until Sept. The rest of the phony pollsters will drop her from their polls.
So a late October announcement, she had told us August or September, so not encouraging.
Regardless Sarah Palin or bust...if it`s going to be bust, might as well get it over with
Patience my friend patience. Sarah Palin's a maverick who loves taunting the liberal media. She does not follow the rest of the establishment. After the circus we saw on the Fox debates Sarah Palin came out the only real winner by not attending it.
Besides, the last couple of debates are the ones that really count in the primaries and they don't happen until February or March so she's got plently of time to announce.
By the time she announces (whether it be in October, February or March)the other GOP candidates will have been worn down and discredited by the MSM. Americans will welcome Sarah Palin as they did Reagan seven years of Carter.
So you know she's running? Are you a member of that tight circle??
Just asking...
Like most companies since this regime began, they are either out of business or don’t have money for advertising. Oh, and now you get a free pack of matches, not steak knives.
Palin said at the Iowa State Fair, “I doubt it” when asked by WHO-TV13 Des Moines reporter Dave Price if she would have an announcement ready by the next time “we” (meaning Iowans) see her again. She then stated probably not, that a couple of weeks wouldn’t be enough time. A moment later she said that “to be fair, to those, uh, supporters and potential supporters who are waiting...” she would have an answer by the end of next month (September). Later that night she was on Hannity from the Iowa State Fair and said she was still deciding.
Could mean nothing, could mean something. Who knows?
In any event, she seems to be having fun tweaking the media with all this speculation.
In her interview with Sean Hannity at the Iowa State Fair, Sarah specifically said she would announce her decision in September. No mention of whether that would be early or late September.
I really want Palin to run, but consider this: Once declared, it is non-stop campaigning and I think she feels like Reagan said, something to this effect: You enter when you can gain the most momentum and hold it. I think she feels the same. I emailed her today and told her that I had resisted giving to anyone else till I know she is in, or out, for sure. I’d love for her to run, and I believe there are a LOT of us out there, awaiting her decision. If she doesn’t, then I’ll consider someone else, but I am patient. She is patient and if running, will announce when it suits her. It is still several months out. She has time. IA has not necessarily been an accurate indication of the Republican nominee. She’d probably carry it if she won, anyway!
Did I hear Karl Rove say something about her having a big tour coming up in September? He wasn’t ruling her out of the race at all, but I’m wondering if she’ll make more appearances with Beck.
The Palin/ Beck appearance is October 7th. Maybe she will use that opportunity to announce if she’s running or not.
