Securing Our US Border Is About Security, Not Racism
The Patriot Statesman ^ | 3-25-2011 | Bill Kneer

I am getting a little sick hearing the flat out lies we are told about Republicans and protecting our US borders. Every nation has the right, and the obligation, to protect its borders. One argument we hear often is that we need the workers.

The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics this month says that we have 8.9% unemployment. “The number of unemployed persons (13.7 million) and the unemployment rate (8.9 percent) changed little in February. “ 8.9% is only the number of those who the tax payers are supporting through unemployment benefits. It does not count those who are not getting anything at all. So ask yourself do we really need the workers?

I wonder if our elected officials get this or if they have the courage to do the right thing? I worry that our Republican Elected Officials in the Texas House will cave out of fear of the open borders crowd and not even let Debbie Riddles bill out of the Calenders committee. The best way back the minority party is to kill our good conservative legislation.

To me the word "racist" has no meaning, not only because of its overuse, but because the left is able to get away with actually being racist.

Also, Mexican is not a race. How can one be "racist" against something that isn't a race?

Illegal immigration discriminates against millions of “minorities” in countries all over the world, who are waiting to enter this country legally and to become good citizens. I assume that includes anyone in Mexico who is not up to or willing to cross illegally.

Everything the left does is immoral. Also we need the skilled people of the world, like engineers, to compete.

Too many entitlements.

We don’t need more workers we need more people who are forced to find jobs, instead of waiting out their benefits through unemloyment insurance.

Ho many are sitting this one out, Will not take a job because it didn’t pay what their last one paid. Consider themselves over qualified. If someone wants to work there are jobs out there, the illegals are doing them. Some of them do not pay well , but they pay.

Hispanics are now the majority in our school system. Here in San Antonio, the population is now a majority of Hispanic. If they are legal, I have no problem at all, however if it is discovered that the number is polluted due to the illegal border entries then I have a problem. Everyone seems to turn a blind eye because of the increasing Hispanic vote. I'm curious let's suppose for argument sake, a massive influx of Russian immigrants came across our borders( in the numbers that the Hispanic population has), would we close our eyes or would we demand that they enter as other ethnic groups have

" If they are legal, I have no problem at all..."

However, just becuase they are legal does not mean they don't hate you. Most likely they DO hate you and consider you a white oppressor that stole their sacred land and who keeps the brown man down. That is what they are taught. I saw it myself when I worked in the public schools in Texas.

When taught about the Alamo, they laughed when told about how all the white people died. I was shocked and disgusted.

Republicans can do nothing to satisfy the left, so we should stop trying. We need to do what is right and let them whine.

What is right is to criminalize the hiring of an illegal alien regardless. No exemptions. No hypocrisy. If an individual cannot determine the legal status of their maid or cook or gardener then hire someone from an agency who can establish that.

Turn the Tables!

Promoting amnesty imposes SLAVE WAGES for LEGAL immigrants!

Legal immigrants are returning to Mexico because the ILLEGALS are undercutting their wages.

You have to admit we would be less concerned if we were being invaded by ambitious education-seeking entreprenuners and Canadian PhD’s in math and science

instead of low educated wealth-eaters running from failed socialist corruption and looking to celebrate it here in America while reviling America

What really irks me are all the illegals coming over here and
excerpting blog posts in order to scam hits from decent Americans.

They are truly scum.

Do you honestly believe that it’s the rich wanting to hire cheap household labor that stands between securing the border or leaving it wide open? It’s large farming corporations and meat processing corporations. IOW. It’s corporations, their lobbyists and the corrupt politicians who sell “we the people” out. The “rich people” wanting cheap maids is a Marxist myth. Look at SEIU, they LOVE illegals and their dues.

We have two problems with the border issue. One is the massive influx of illegals coming for work and freebies. Even if we solved this problem, we’d still have the border security issue. Drug gangs, misc. criminals and potential terrorists would still be left to come and go as they please. They aren’t looking for amnesty.

No, but either hiring illegal aliens as workers is criminal or it is not. Do not pretend that it is in some instances and is not in other.

I wonder why guys like you post excerpts of their own work here at Free Republic?

Why not save the bandwidth and either post your whole article instead of an excerpt? You might have something to say, but the way you post your articles makes you a recurring blogpimp, and If I were you I’d find a new way to post articles here at FR.

I’m not pretending anything; hiring a person who entered this Country illegally should be a criminally punishable offense - in ALL cases. I’m merely pointing out that you shouldn’t be furthering by repetition the Marxist myth that it’s the fault of the rich. The fault lies in our broken and corrupt political system.

I'm not blaming the rich. But I would also point out that it is not the right of the rich to pick and choose what laws to abide by. Nor should laws be written to specifically give them a free ride on what the rest of the population has to do. Undocumented workers are here illegally. Period. Hiring them should be a criminal act. Period. If the mom and pop store in Dallas, barely scraping by, has to go to the expense of ensuring that they are hiring properly documented workers otherwise they may go to jail, then the multi-million dollar home owner in the burbs should have to do the same. Otherwise they should suffer the same penalty.
