He is a true patriot. He gives selflessly, especially in support of the military,

He loves his country and gave a good speech.

As a conservative can you possibly set the bar any lower for national office? Maybe he could start a Facebook page and put out occassional bumper sticker quotes.

He also does a LOT for service men and women, war veterans and their families.

We have nothing but respect for Gary Sinise.

I've kinda followed Gary Sinise’s career with interest for quite a while. As an actor (selective about the roles he chooses) and an individual, he seems quiet spoken and understated, while delivering quite a punch. I feel that he is a committed and principled conservative who speaks his mind in the hostile liberal environment of Hollywood. He is committed to our troops and has made several trips to visit and support our troops on the ‘front.’. While he has earned his share of respect, he's not one of the Hollywood ‘glamour boys’ because he's, well, simply above that.
Just my take :-)

Sinese is one the the country’s most underrated actors. He has played both Harry Truman and George C Wallace in biographical movies. It was uncanny how he effected their mannerisms and manner of speaking. You would think you were looking at the real thing.Great actor and true patriot,

Politics:

Sinise’s name was in an advertisement in the Los Angeles Times (17 August 2006) that condemned Hamas and Hezbollah and supported Israel in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict.[16]

In June 2008, Sinise donated $2,300 to the Republican Presidential primary campaign of Arizona Senator John McCain.[17]

Nicolle Wallace, a former adviser to George W. Bush and the presidential campaign of John McCain, stated in May 2009 that she believed Sinise could help bring about a resurgence of the Republican Party. Wallace stated, “The natural strengths that an actor brings to politics would come in handy to anyone going up against Obama in 2012. We will need an effective communicator who can stand toe to toe with Obama’s eloquence.” Other names mentioned were those of Generals David Petraeus and Ray Odierno.[18] Sinise later stated he had no intention of entering politics.[citation needed] Sinise narrates the online virtual tour for the Ronald Reagan Presidential library and spoke at the centennial celebration of Reagan’s birth at the library in February 2011.

Years ago I heard an interview he did about visiting the troops. He said that almost everywhere he went on those tours the troops wanted to the his “Lt. Dan” dog tags from the movie.

He spoke at the 100th birthday celebration at the request of Nancy Reagan and broadcast on Fox News Channel. Maybe there is some video on the web page. Hope so, I'd like to save it. It was very good.

I didn’t ask you who Gary Sinise is. I asked at what specific event did he make his comments.
*Sigh*

Thank you. I asked, because there have been events all weekend. I'll look for replay of today's celebration.

I'd love to see him meet Mayor Daley and Obama and when learning they were both "from" Illinois say "What are you guys, twins?"

Joking aside, fine actor and a fine man. But I wouldn't expect him to go into politics as long as his career is doing well. He's one of the best alongside Robert Duvall and a couple others. Some actors are worth watching no matter what they are in.

I hope you also caught him in “Of Mice and Men,” in which he was stellar. I love watching that movie over and over.

Watch his performance in The Stand. He was spot on in all aspects of his portrayal of Stu Redman.
