None of these three are ideological conservatives. Romney seems to be more of an opportunist than an ideologue and Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee lean more toward populism. I do not see any one of the three as ideologically consistent champions of limited government.

Please point me towards such a candidate (and please don’t say “Ron Paul” or his progeny) amongst the field now assembling to run. That’s right, there aren’t any.

That's just crazy talk. Sarah Palin is conservative, more so than any potential candidate since Reagan.
