Obama Plays "Rope-a-Dope," With GOP Euphoria
Vanity | October 24, 2010 | Kenny Bunk

Posted on 10/25/2010 6:58:53 AM PDT by Kenny Bunk

The "Right Wing" blogosphere, including me and you, is beside itself with joy over what appears to be a Republican remake of the house after next week's elections."Tsunami, Baby! Hurrah! Hurrah!"

By the cold light of dawn on November 4th it will perhaps occur to Tea-Partiers and RINOs alike, that given their essential powerlessness to "roll back," the Obama Agenda, they may have unwittingly set up the Democrats for more of same in 2012.

IOW, the brave shock troops of the Tea Party will be a sort of sacrificial "Light Brigade," that reaches the enemy's guns, but cannot take the position. Accommodating wimps like McConnell, Boehner, Steele, Snow, Collins, Graham, McCain et al. are hardly the stuff of insurgent leadership. Restore the constitution? Nah. Just beefing up their poker hand at the compromise tables.

Pat Buchanan (of all people) gets it.

........Hence, the Tea Party faces almost certain disappointment, if not disillusionment.

Why? Because many in the Republican establishment also do not believe austerity is the way to go in a recession. Second, while most Republicans may favor deep cuts, they know that if they vote to cut Social Security, Medicare and unemployment insurance, but do not get those cuts, they will get the pain but not the benefit and be held accountable, just as Democrats were held accountable for cap-and-trade, which they voted for but did not get through the Senate.

Republicans will come out of this election with a tricky hand to play.

They will have the appearance of power, but not the actuality.

They will vote for cuts that will not be agreed to by the Senate or accepted by the president. If the economy is in the ditch in 2012, they will seem ineffectual. If the economy is improving, Obama and Bernanke will claim credit.

Arriving in DC with No Program...No Plan... No Leader... No Clue by any available evidence, ... and very little real power, it seems unlikely that the GOP will be able to roll back anything. Roll Over, maybe.

IMHO, the enormous dislike of, and dissatisfaction with, the present POTUS has not led to the creation of a concrete program to repair the damage he has wrought in the past 20 months.

The GOP takes the House. The Democrats hold the Senate. What that means is that the only way to correct the situation is to depend upon the "Blue Dogs" to do the "Right Thing."

God help the Republic.

Nobody is that naive to believe that this one election is going to solve our problems.

So why the negative?

We win the House, and maybe the Senate. We win the majority of governorships. We are strengthened for 2012.

It is one battle... one battle that would have to be won if we are ever going to win the war.

So why not be happy about it?

Rush discussed this last week and made numerous good points.

One of the best points, was that even if we can't 'roll back' much or any of Barry's crap legislation, at the very least we will strip him of his 'rubber stamp', and keep him from doing any more damage.

Why so negative? Because it is Free Republic. Here are the stages of the Nattery Naboobs of negativity here on FR.

1) Six Months to go - “GOP will blow it”

2) Three months to go - “GOP will find a way to blow it”

3) Four weeks to go - “Fraud will steal this election”

4) Two weeks to go - “It doesn’t matter they are RINOs any way”

5) One week to go - “Why don’t we lose so that in the next election people will beg us to come into power”

This is just the beginning... either you are with US or with them. If Conservatives do not have the stomach to fight these enemies... please at least stay out of the way while those of us that are willing to fight... do so..

Ok, don’t get me wrong, winning the House is better than not winning the House. However, BHO will not, and cannot move to the center. BHO will continue to govern as he has been, like a Chicago community organizer. BHO will do much damage through czars and executive orders. And the Republicans don’t have the backbone to stop him.

The real fight starts on November 4.

IMHO, the only way out of this is unrelenting pressure on Republican Office Holders for the next two years. That's positive.

Negative? Yup. I have no inkling that the official GOP has recognized that the Republic is in very real danger. Speaking of "Negativity," a "Positive" word from Karl Rove, congratulating O'Donnell, could have gotten us the Senate. Without the Senate, a Republican House can do little but make noise. It had better be very very loud!

By cynically disregarding plainly expressed public will, both Rove and Obama are supporting the rise of a Third Party, and in the ensuing confusion, guaranteeing Democratic victories by splitting the "Right."

Obama=The US answer to Allende.

The Long-Term Strategy of the Democrat party is to secretly foster a Conservative Party. The lesson of Ross Perot has not been lost on them.

OTOH, the lesson of weak, old, middle-of-the-road compromiser candidates with no ideological anchor, like Bob Dole and John McCain, has not been learned by the GOP. The question for Conservatives is, "Can a true Conservative Party be developed as quickly as the original Republican Party was? What happens in the meantime?

My real fear is that as the Republican Party goes down, it will pull the Republic as we know it, down with it.

You can’t seriously believe that Karl Rove’s “thumbs up” was make or break for O’Donnell? If she loses, she should look to herself.

1) Six Months to go - “GOP will blow it”
Nah. 6 months ago, they weren't blowing it. They were merely milling about in a state of confusion, realizing that being in the majority held many esponsibilities that could seriously interfere with deal-making.

2) Three months to go - “GOP will find a way to blow it”
Nah. 3 months ago they were actively just looking for a graceful way to blow it by dissing the Tea Party..

3) Four weeks to go - “Fraud will steal this election”
A very distinct possibility in a number of races. No official word on election fraud from GOP ...ever! www.truethevote.com Not an official Republican Outfit. Talk to Dino Rossi. Talk to B-1 Bob Dornan. Ask them what help they got from the GOP.

4) Two weeks to go - “It doesn’t matter they are RINOs any way”
I am well known for holding my nose and voting for any RINO over any Democrat. And, after my man loses in the primary, campaigning for them. God help me.

5) One week to go - “Why don’t we lose so that in the next election people will beg us to come into power”
See Number (4) above. No substitute for victory. My only questions, (a) "Where the heck are we going after the victory party?" (b) "Is the victory party in 2012 going to be at our house?"

“BHO will not, and cannot move to the center. BHO will continue to govern as he has been, like a Chicago community organizer. BHO will do much damage through czars and executive orders. And the Republicans don’t have the backbone to stop him.”

This is what I have been ranting about for months without a clean sweep including the RINO’s there will be NO change and no hope.

Everyone seems to think that the great ‘tsunami’ that appears to becoming in November for the Republicans will change everything and I agree that it will just not in the way they think. IMHO such a great victory will in the end be equal to South Carolina’s firing on Fort Sumter. The ‘DemonRATs’ and the leftist will ‘go to the mattresses’ and ‘war’ will breakout.

Does Obama/Pelosi/Reed or their kind seem like people who can take even such a dramatic loss gracefully? Do they seem like people who can or will learn from a loss and correct their course accordingly? DO they even seem SANE? Nancy is already bragging about how she will still be the Speaker after the election. Haven’t they shown time and time again that they will go to any lengths for revenge?

So many seem to think that November’s elections are some ‘Magic Wand’ that will wipe away our troubles! Let me tell you after such a win (if it happens) the REAL TROUBLE WILL BEGIN!

Yes the Republicans will more than like to score big this November, but will the ‘DemonRATs’ learn anything? Hell NO! For that matter will the RINO’s learn anything? Just read from any number of articles on O’Donnell’s win, look at what Rove and Snowe have said, look at what Murkowski and Crist are doing, look at how the Republican Leadership of RINO’s allowed Murkowski to keep her committee positions! Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell is already saying that he and his GOP colleagues have no intention whatsoever to repeal ObamaCare! Do not these acts show you what will be learned from such a victory, LITTLE if anything! The Elitist Jerks of both parties are scrambling for their political lives and they know it!

Oh you say but those ‘DemonRATs’ up for re-election in 2012 will learn fear, they will be scared to the ‘middle’. First the middle of the road is where you get run over! Being in the middle of the road is what got the Republicans’ butt kicked in 2008! Some say oh they won’t pass anything with the the people so opposed to them, to which I say, BS! DO any of you remember the crowds that surrounded Congress during the ‘Obamacare’ vote? Did it scare them?

Look about you it’s not only the ‘DemonRATs’ but the RINO’s as well who refuse to see that they have brought, supported and passed an agenda that the American People have rejected. They still feel that they know best and any defeat will only come about due to the ignorance of the electorate.

I have posted this before and I will keep posting it (I am beginning to feel like Paul Revere: THE RADICAL PROGRESSIVES AND THE RINO’S ARE COMING! THE RADICAL PROGRESSIVES AND RINO’S ARE COMING!) because I know in my heart that I am right about this, too many are thinking that the upcoming November elections are going to reset everything. And I say that NO matter how bad November is for the ‘DemonRATs’ you can bet that ‘Zero’ and his kind will not only press on with their agenda but DOUBLE DOWN on it! And now it looks as if there will be RINO’s looking for their revenge from getting their butts kicked out that will join them.

I don’t believe that the November elections will immediately change a thing! The Washington creatures both Democrat and RINO still believe that they know best and will act accordingly.

Even if there is the BIGGEST turnover in history this November the Obama/Pelosi/Reid triad are such a pack of narcissist that they will come back during the ‘lame duck’ session and pass every far left-wing bill they can think of! They will burn the house down before they surrender it! If they can’t drink from the well they will poison it for all! If they can’t keep it they will surround it with mines and keep anyone else from getting to it! That will be their reaction.

Even after the ‘lame’ duck session you will see the greatest attempt by any President in our history to rule by executive order! ‘Zero’ KNOWS BEST what is good for us and he will act accordingly. No mere election won by a bunch of peasants or as ‘Zero’ describe us: Bitter Clingers (“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”) is going to change his direction. To ‘Zero’ such a election will hold no meaning and only be the ‘peasants acting out’ and he knows what is best for those ‘bitter clingers’ and he will do it to save them from themselves!

If anyone thinks that a big loss in November will make one iota of difference in Obama and the ‘DemonRATs’ leftist agenda you need to seek professional help immediately, because I assure you that the sounds you will hear coming from them after such a lost will not be the ‘wailing and gnashing of teeth’ it will be the notes of El Degüello.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKD5TgHWyxM

I steadfastly believe that the November elections will NOT provide the immediate relief we think, but will instead it will be the ‘dropped gauntlet’ the slap across the face the challenge that will bring us to what I call a National ‘Battle of Athens’ moment (http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tnnews/kns001.htm )
A time in which it will require much more action that punching a ballot to save the Republic. There is so little ‘middle ground’ left and what there is, is shrinking every day.

IMHO there will soon be a time of great choosing and you will be required to make a stand to: Choose this day how you will serve; Will you serve unwillingly and at the bidding of others wearing the yoke of socialism or will you hold true to the course of our forefathers’ standing tall and serving freely? As for me I choose to SERVE THE REPUBLIC!

....O’Donnell? If she loses, she should look to herself.

You seriously think that Rove's treachery was helpful? In one day, she went from dominating Coons ... who is a commie nut job ... to behind in the polls (for whatever they're worth).

She may still win, but SOB Rove put her well behind the 8-ball by giving the MSM even more cover. "See, even top Republicans don't like her!"

She won the primary ... there is no excuse for Rove's actions. If he didn't like her, silence was an option. She loses, it's on this SOB Rove.

While most of your post is right on the money, you underestimate the resolve and determination of this movement. Statements like “So many seem to think that November’s elections are some ‘Magic Wand’ that will wipe away our troubles!” are not true. The number who think that are very low.

Most people recognize that, to paraphrase a great man, this is not the end, nor the beginning of the end — but this may be the end of the beginning.

The first battle will be in the Senate, within the Republican party, and, to a lesser extent, within the house, as the Republicans jockey for position. And then, while that intra-party battle rages on, the left will continue its assault on the Constitution.

I have seen very little evidence that people in the “tea party” movement do not recognize this.

I’m not approving of Rove. He will have little, if anything, to do with whether O’Donnell wins or loses. You credit him with way too much power and refuse to recognize that O’Donnell is primarily responsible for her own fate.

In regard to Vote Fraud: in ye goode olde olden days, we used to say, "Turnout Defeats Fraud." IOW, the Democrats can't steal an election if it's not close.

However, that is no longer quite as true as it used to be, thanks to "technology." E.G., in Houston, an SEIU operative organization (a Mr. Caddle) registered 25,000 NEW voters. Of that number, 23,000 were found to be fraudulent or ineligible. Of course, as shocking (shocking, I tell you) as that factoid may be, it tells us nothing about the older registrations in that area.

As the GOP remains largely silent on the issue, the Democrats grow bolder with every election cycle. It is a national disgrace enabled by a timid GOP.
