My brother-in-law is a physician. He’s taking active steps to prepare for an early retirement if obamacare is passed.
Just down-sized his house, saving aggressively, not buying
new vehicles even though his wife is currently driving an 8 year old vehicle.
His college age children were required to attend a state university where they had scholarships vs. the private schools to which they really wanted to attend.
And from what I can gather, many of his colleagues are taking similar steps.
Gonna be a MASSIVE doctor shortage!
I’ve said this over and over. The unintended consequences of socialized medicine will be the mass exit of physicians who are already fed up with paperwork and faceless numbskulls dictating what they get paid and what they can do. I for one am already getting ready. Like your brother in law I have paid off all debts and have decided I can live on what I have put aside and my USAF pension. Its now up to the totalitarians in congress and senate. I figure I have another 2 years and I am ready to exit but if provoked I can leave earlier.
Can he just switch over and become a vet? Seems the
dogs and cats have it better than the humans.
