Barack Obama is wrong to consider relying heavily on Iran to help stabilize Iraq, John McCain said Wednesday.
Speaking to FOX News, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee said he doesnt think its wise to hold high level diplomatic talks with the Iranians, who are developing nuclear weapons, threatening the existence of Israel and causing much of the unrest in Iraq.
Id be opposed to any meeting with the Iranians that would enhance their prestige.
Theres plenty of ways of conversing without putting people on the world stage and not sacrificing our standards and everything that we hold dear, the Arizona senator said.
On Tuesday, Obama, the Illinois senator and Democratic presidential candidate, told Gen. David Petraeus and Amb. Ryan Crocker, the top U.S. military and diplomatic leaders in Iraq, that talks with Tehran are critical to U.S. and Iraqi success.

After five years of war, Iraqis greeted Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with kisses and flowers, and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was seen in public holding his hand. In the meantime, when George W. Bush visits Iraq, he has to sneak in and stay within the confines of an American base.
What does this tell you about the Bush/McCain approach to "diplomacy" with Iran and Iraq???

What does this tell you about the Bush/McCain approach to "diplomacy" with Iran and Iraq??? That we would have saved a lot of American lives and money if we had just made both of them glass parking lots to start with.

Right. Sitting down with Iran to ‘negotiate’ gives them a political/diplomatic equivalence to duly elected, responsible and representative governments worldwide ... which they are not. McCain has it right on that. Iran's leader has no business in the same camera frame with free world leaders dedicated to peace in the ME. When will Liberals get tired of being had by this Iranian ass clown and the MSM which insists on lionizing him?

Which Iraqis? Sadrists? How safe would your Ahmadinejad be walking down a Sunni street? Why has Sistani backed Maliki over Sadr?
