(Tampa, FL)--- Congresswoman Katherine Harris, the Republican candidate for United States Senate, has accepted the primary election endorsement of the Florida Right to Life Political Action Committee (FRTL). This endorsement was granted to Harris based on her strong commitment toward defending human life.

“Florida Right to Life would like to thank you for your commitment to the Pro-Life cause…” stated Carrie Eisnaugle, Chairman of the FRTL, in her letter to Congresswoman Harris. “This position reflects our appreciation for your stand for the rights of unborn children, the elderly, and the infirmed.”

Representative Harris has voted in support of a number of important pro-life legislative initiatives such as the Partial Birth Abortion Act, the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, and the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act. In addition, Harris has voted to protect Social Security, Medicare and has advanced numerous bills to assist veterans because she believes the U.S. must honor commitments that have been made to our seniors and those who have guarded our national security at great personal cost.

Congresswoman Harris commented, “I am grateful for the support of the FRTL, defending the sanctity of human life is an issue I will continue to champion while serving in the United States Senate.”

Katherine Harris, Republican Candidate for the United States Senate, currently serves as the Representative for Florida’s 13th Congressional District. After receiving a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, she continued a distinguished career in public service to her native state that began in the State Senate and as Florida’s last elected Secretary of State. While continuing her daily work on behalf of Florida with a strong focus on economic and national security issues, Congresswoman Harris is a member of the House Financial Services Committee, the House International Relations Committee and the Homeland Security Committee. Representative Harris has also been appointed to serve on the Congressional Leadership Team as a Deputy Whip and the Speaker’s Policy Committee. She resides in Longboat Key with her husband Anders Ebbeson and his 24-year-old daughter, Louise along with the constituents of District thirteen.

Glad HK endorses life. One issue in our favor. However, she still has not clearly stated she is for expulsion of all illegal aliens. I do not want Martinez to have an ally. Her statements are "political" and equivocating. As I understand it, she is for balanced and fair immigration and guest workers, whatever that means. If HK takes a strong stance against illegals, sends them to the back of the line AND if there is a need for workers, throws the able bodied off welfare, then I will vote for her in the Primary. I do not care what the innuendos are from the "hidden" DOJ GJ subpoena allegations - I am from the Ray Naggin, Marion Barry school of voting.

RTL endorsed Gallagher too.

SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE LEADERS UNITE BEHIND TOM GALLAGHER

ORLANDO – Dennis Baxley, State Representative and Chair of the Social Conservatives for Gallagher Steering Committee, today participated in a statewide conference call of several high profile social conservative leaders on topics ranging from abortion and adoption to the marriage amendment and the expansion of gambling. The Social Conservatives for Gallagher are continuing to build grassroots support for Tom Gallagher’s campaign among values voters in the upcoming election.

“I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of support we have received from Florida’s families and social conservatives. Our next Governor must have a clear and concise vision to expand on Jeb Bush’s conservative leadership of our state,” said Tom Gallagher. “I have taken clear stands and laid out specific policy proposals on social conservative issues such as same sex marriages, abortion and adoption. As Governor, I will continue to stand on our conservative principles and values.”

“Florida needs a governor who will take a strong stand for Florida’s families. The only acceptable candidate for governor is Tom Gallagher,” said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. “He is the only candidate who has consistently and unequivocally taken pro-family positions on abortion, same-sex marriage and homosexual adoption.”

Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for Governor of Florida who is running a campaign consistent with the core values of the Republican Party. Tom Gallagher is pro-life and will advocate for laws to limit the number of abortions in Florida. Tom Gallagher will work to encourage and increase the number of adoptions in our state through expanding the One Church One Child Program, and opposes gay adoption. Moreover, Tom Gallagher is the only candidate for governor with a 100% pro-life voting record and who has been consistent in his support for an amendment to Florida’s constitution defending marriage as the union between a man and a woman.

“The Republican Party needs a candidate that upholds the principle that every human being, born or unborn, young or old, healthy or disabled, has a fundamental, individual right to life. There is no question that Tom Gallagher is the right candidate to defend our values,” said Barbara Collier, Chairman of the Broward Christian Coalition. “As a father and a family man, Tom has stood with us to defend innocent life, oppose the redefinition of marriage and promote the values that make our families stronger.”

The social conservative leaders (Organizations listed are for identification purposes only) participating on today’s call are as follows:

Dennis Baxley, State Representative; John Stemberger; Anita Staver, Liberty Counsel; Carole Griffin, Eagle Forum; Barbara Collier, Reclaiming America; Bob Touchston, Florida Right to Life; Pam Olsen, Bush-Cheney ‘04

Other Social Conservative leaders who are supporting Tom Gallagher but were unable to participate on today’s conference call:

Susan Cutaia, Citizens for Science and Ethics; Pat Neal, Chairman of the Board for the Christian Colition of Florida; Mat Staver, Liberty Counsel

She has stated she is for securing the borders first. And against any form of amnesty or any guest worker program that would include a path to citizenship.

She went after Nelson for voting for amnesty in the Senate Bill. Despite that fact that Martinez says he endorses her & will campaign for her....he knows that she is firm in her position of NO amnesty.

I know Katherine Harris will not compromise her conservative principles to work with Martinez! You can count on her!
