Some surprising comments by Deaniacs following Dean's withdrawal from the race are compiled and posted HERE. For example:
---------------------------------
Thank you and Good Night!
Vote BUSH in 04 and then Dean has a chance to run again in 08.

I would also like to say that if Kerry wins the nomination, I will not be voting for him in the general election. I think he is one of the most corrupt politicians ever. He makes my skin crawl.

Very interesting how much these Deaniac Dem voters hate BOTH Kerry and Edwards! I was shocked!!!

Another one:
If Kerry and Bush are the same, and Kerry wins, we get stuck with him for maybe 8 years! If Bush wins we have a chance in 08!
KERRY CAN'T WIN! AT ALL COST!
Even if that means BUSH!

Amazing:
I suppose that is the silver lining: a Bush win in 2004 opens up the way for Dean 2008 -- and no incumbent!

Vote for an establishment democrat? no way! I will hold my nose and vote for Bush! The DNC needed my swing vote. It is too bad that they are backing the wrong man. I guess that is time to open my wallet and give my attention to Dubya.

One sees little support for Edwards on DU.

I know what you mean. I don't think these Dems will get it together for 2004. Too much in-fighting in their party.

I love this. Whoever the Democratic candidate is, the other leading Democrats (e.g., Howard, Hillary) will work to make sure he doesn't win so that they have a chance in 2008. Hee, Hee!

I think you're right. It's incredible to me how much some people love power (for themselves). Nothing else gets in the way. Nothing!

We saw a lot of comments like this when McCain failed to win the nomination. Many of these people will end up supporting and voting for Kerry. Dean had an appeal to a certain type of Republican voters. These voters may still vote third party or for Kerry, but we have a chance to recapture their interests. Honestly, some of Dean's fiscal conservativism when he was governor was appealing to my liberterian/fiscal conservative side, but he lost me with so many other things (and his severe swing to the left in the primaries--he showed his true colors) that although I am not a 100% Bush supporter, he will get my support as I know he will support 70-80% of my issues vs. Kerry supporting 10-15% of my issues.

Edwards is Clinton of 2004. He is slick and slippery. Clinton probably would not have gotten a lot of support on DU (I am not sure if it existed in 1992) either. Support probably would have been for Tsongas, Cuomo, or Jackson that year. I was not living in the U.S. then so my experience was limited on that election/U.S. politics.

Hey Summer...happy to see your post and what a surprise. Last time I posted to you I think it was right after Jeb won so beg. How about our hard work paying off for AAAArnold? Hopefully we're on our way to a FLORIDA type recovery. Now FL really knows how to run a state budget! We're hopefull. So surprised to read about the Deaniacs but it's good news and at least they are using their brains instead of "feelings" like other D's. Keep feeding those kids good stuff!

TatieBug, Thanks for your post. I did not have anything to do with Arnold winning, but if you are happy, then I am happy for you. Always nice to hear from you, too. :)

This is my favorite from that blog..
had a nightmare last night. It was a commercial that said, "Health insurance premiums have gone up 800% because of malpractice lawyers like John Edwards waging frivilous law suits against good doctors. When doctors have to pay $40 million dollars, those costs are passed on to you, the average american trying to make ends meet. John Edwards wants you to think he's one of the little guys -- and then it cut to cut after cut of JE saying, "My daddy worked in a mill" -- Since when does the little guy make $40 million dollars on the backs of Americans?
I awoke shaking.

Aye, the Deaniacs don't like Kerry. It's kind of a cognitive dissonance thing for 'em. Who do they dislike more- Kerry or Bush?
To: Prodigal Son
Apparently they'd rather see Bush win, because they believe it clears the way for a NEW Dem race in 2008. If Kerry wins, then it's Kerry's race in 2008, again, which they don't seem to want.
BTW, I just read the Washington Times article now posted on Drudge about how Bush's supporters may sit it out.
So, you've got GW's supporters not supporting GW according to that article -- and Deaniacs voting for GW, according to the Dean blog. This may turn out to be one strange election year.

I saw a small group of Deaniacs joined up with Vietnam Vets here in Tucson. They were protesting Kerry

Very interesting. If these Deaniacs retain their voice, they might actually have something to say about this election.
