Prayer Request
Myself | 28MAR03 | Tennessee_Bob

Posted on 03/28/2003 5:06:25 AM PST by Tennessee_Bob

An hour from now, I will be going before the court here in Anderson County seeking sole custody of my daughter. Originally, I was supposed to go to court in January, but we got snowed out. It's been a long march to this point, I originally filed in April of 2002, and it's taken nearly a year now.

I would like to ask for your prayers for my daughter and myself as I take what appears to be the last step in this. I prayed long and hard before starting this action. I don't seek to keep my ex from our daughter, but to minimize the hurtful influence she may have on her. Some folks will say that a child belongs with their mother, and that may be true in a lot of cases, but in this case, my ex-wife has minimal interest in being a mother. We can debate the merits and the reasons of this later. At this time though, please, keep us in your prayers.

Prayers are with you and your daughter, and also your ex. We are told to "love thine enemies", and she needs prayer too.

Stay strong. Jesus loves you.

Prayers for you. I went through the same thing and came out "victorious."

It has been a great blessing.

Thank you all for your prayers and your words of support! It was uncontested - her mother didn't even show up. I've been awarded sole-custody, supervised visitation. Thank you all! And thank God, above all else!

Mine was 7 when I got custody.

She's ten years old. Just turned ten in January. She's awesome. I drove her to school this morning, got a big kiss and hug as she got out of the car, then skipped into the school. It about killed me to watch her do that - don't know why, but it tore at me for some reason.

God is alright! He'll do right if we'll just give Him a chance. They grow up at lightning-speed, enjoy every nano-second with her!

I an praying for you, I know the pain in this. I also know the frustration when one parent is using their children instead of working for the best of the child. May God bless you and May the Lord's Will be Done.

It's ok - it's the thought that counts - and the prayer as well. We can never have enough prayer - and I thank you for that.
