We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
GLOBAL WARNING ACTIVIST ALERT!!
December 7 record low temperature:
Washington Dulles Airport - former record: 18 (set various years)
Washington Dulles Airport - new record: 3 (set in 2002)
Other temperatures around the Washington metro area:
Washington: 21 [not a new record]
Richmond: 21
Petersburg: 18
Patuxent River: 14
Roanoke: 13
Fredericksburg: 12
Charlottesville: 12
Lynchburg: 12
Manassas: 0 [ZERO]
Here, at the cottage: a nice, balmy 9.9
Question for the global warming people: considering that current low temperature records for the day were not simply broken, but crushed, does this fit your "models"? Hmmm?
In the news:
Runoff election day in Louisiana. And what would an election be if it didn't have a Criminal Party vote buying scandal? Landrieu is accused of trying to buy military votes with $10 Thanksgiving food gift certificates. The claim is reported in The Washington Times, and comes from Gen. George Peyton Cole, Jr., retired.
North Carolina has activated the National Guard to help storm victims.
And one of the hottest toys this Christmas shopping season? A talking President Bush doll. The Daily News reports the doll says "17 powerful and patriotic phrases," including:
"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot shake the foundation of America."
"I will not yield. I will not rest. I will not relent in waging this struggle for freedom and security for the American people."
And what would a President Bush doll be without a mangled phrase? They included: "I will not hold this nation hostile."
Reportedly the manufacturer is also planning dolls for JFK, and President Reagan.
[They are also planning one for UOx42, but it is not clear whether one of the phrases for that doll would be: "I never had sex with that woman."]

Finally made it up to 27 here in Virginia Beach.
I would buy a clinton doll, just so I could break it.
Hope you all have a good day. We're doing tkd this morning. Missing two weeks and eating the entire time has sort of caught up with me. I can hardly keep up, let alone remember anything.

G'morning MP, how bout that UN and I still say that OUR Prez W made the UN look unimportant and it stung KING Kofi. Kofi is making an attempt to get back at W to show who is really boss, leader of the world. One thing he is missing, W will have a showdown at the OK correll with KING Kofi and KING Kofi will fade off into the sunset. It is time to do something bold with the International Social Club like send them home. Those folks live in their own little LaLa land.
Its off for cup # 2, be back in a bit.

I am taking to the 'social' at church tonight two rump roasts cooked in my trusty crockpots, lots of garlic, onions, bellpeppers, mushrooms, a BIG bananna pudding, some bread (from the store), lots of love and a gift. Some of you are going to get older, that happens, and some will be invited to attend the 'old folks' functions at your church, don't fight it, go, you will enjoy every minute of it. I fought it at first then gave in, glad I did and at least I can keep up with them, you younger folks I can't any more.

Good morning Chairman and ALL you wonderful people.
Mr. Mulliner
Lysie, did you visit that Atkins thread...
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Yes, I saw that thread. You and some others were doing a good job proving the diet works. Some people's minds will never change. It's like the what auto is better question...a Chevy or Ford?
All I know is it works for me and I have had both a Ford and Chevy...both worked for me, too. :-)

Oh, what a beautiful chilly morning...but NO snow. Oh well.
Looks like the early birds are up and about.
I hope you're right gc. We don't need the UN telling us how to do things, expecially when we pay our bills, sometimes late, but we do supply personnel and equipment where needed.
That's more than most of the other countries do. Kofi is a bit too big for his britches, I think.

Sat. NPR report: Just had a medical dr. on talking about the plight of the children in N. Korean, and guess what?? He didn't blame the U.S. but instead credited Reagan, and W. with opposing the evil regime which is really the cause of the children's plight!
Mr. M., I printed out that Atkins article for husband.....neither he nor I have read it tho...
Later everyone.

I will be gone most of the day. Baking cookies at my sister's this AM, then shopping in afternoon. Will try to check in, and will watch the Kuwait thing. Have a great day, everybody!

Good Morning. The Deer Hunters were rattling around my house very early this morning. Somehow I was able to get back to sleep after the early morning disturbance. It will be quiet here today,,, all the male types are out stalking Bambi's Father.
My responsibility is to have hot chilli on the stove, ready to eat at a momment's notice. That I can handle. I will wrap gifts and hit a couple of craft shows today.
