Three threads?
One of us is going to sleep tonight without offering absolution to hamas.
I’m not sure how the other one can sleep at all absolving genocidal maniacs as an act of God.
Such is life.

History is full of examples of people using a national passion of a recent event (in Israel’s case that would be the Oct 7 attack) to bring attention to another cause. Sometimes it’s the left that does it (I.e. Rahm Emmanuel’ “crisis is a terrible thing to waste “). Other times it’s the good guys. Here in the U.S., every time one of our cargo or military ships would get captured and the people on board taken into slavery by the Berber pirates, Americans would get incensed. And the abolitionists here would point out that slavery is wrong whether it’s the white slaves in North Africa or the black slaves here in America.
