In celebration of the 45th anniversary of Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi/horror masterpiece “Alien,” the film will return to theaters for a limited time starting on April 26.

One of the most influential sci-fi/horror films of all time, “Alien,” which was released in June 1979 and won an Oscar® for best visual effects, stars Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm, and Yaphet Kotto. It is the terrifying tale of a crew aboard a commercial spacecraft that lands on an alien planet to investigate a mysterious transmission of unknown origin and encounters the deadliest lifeform in the universe. “Alien” is directed by Ridley Scot, with a screenplay by Dan O’Bannon and a story by Ronald Shusett, and the producers are Gordon Carroll, David Giler, and Walter Hill.

I wonder which version they’re going to show.
They’ll probably show all of the prior Alien movies in theaters between now and when the new one is released.

I wish that Ridley Scott had finished off the Prometheus arc. I was looking so forward to the third installment.
I believe that one was James Cameron.
I went to see that film after hearing that it was the new Star Wars, but was greatly disappointed. I almost walked out in the middle of it.

I was thinking theatrical release or director’s cut versions.
Saw it in theater, or saw some of it in theater.... when Dallas was crawling through the air ducts I had my head down. Not a great fan of scary movies.
Need a two-fer with Aliens.
I saw it on the big screen opening weekend.
No one had said anything about it and it was rated “R”
I figured...what are they going to show...naked aliens?
Took me over 10 years to see it again.
Excellent film but dang that was scary!

Funny, I went to see star wars expecting to see a 2001 quality film, and got a children’s movie.
