I worked for the government at a local military base, and I was one of only a handful who refused to take the jab. Thankfully my supervisors all supported me even if they didn't agree with my decision.
Of course I caught Covid, and pneumonia, back in Feb 2022 and boy, the doctors gave me a hard time about not getting the jab but I didn't care. I was hospitalized for six days and after getting out I started my recovery. Of course all that was negated when I developed Long Covid later in the year and I was forced to retire. Still, I don't regret not getting the jab.
Now, all these months later, the mandates were lifted and low and behold, so many people are now coming out wishing they had never gotten the jab. One of my dearest friends became vaccine injured and the military forced him out, no compensation. And many others have told me that they also had reactions to the jab but haven't told anyone for fear of losing their jobs and being forced out. They are all aircrew members, hence, their silence.
Now I sit here, retired for just about a year now (April 21, 2023), and I'm awaiting the SSA and VA to process, and, God willing, approve my disability requests. Of course I was denied the first go around and now both processes are in the hands of law firms, so I continue to wait.
But I'm ok, ish. I'm still going through some lifestyle changes due to the Long Covid, and I still battle the symptoms (chronic fatigue, insomnia, nausea and dizziness/lightheadedness) but I take things one day at a time. That's all I can do. God has been with me, and though there are days I despair, I know it is on those days that He's holding me.
i have chronic fatigue myself- and know how debilitating it is- especially the PEM- (Post Exertional Malaise) (if you aren’t aware- that is one of the main symptoms of CFS- it is where the body crashes a day or 2 after doing something physical- and is what actually causes the disabling effect of CFS in folks that have it)
I hope they can get you on the SSA soon- CFS is awful-
