First Round (last Thursday) had very high winds.

Tiger Woods looked physically ill. His face has literally changed. His swing still looks comfortable and strong. But, he walks like an elderly man in failing health.

Car crash did much damage to his legs. Many thought he would never golf again.

“he walks like an elderly man in failing health”

Better than 2023 IMO......walking up the 17th fairway on Friday last year I really thought he was gonna quit.

(Tiger) walks like an elderly man in failing health.

The car accident ended his career. He needs to own up to it and admit it. He always said he wouldn't enter tournaments if he didn't honestly believe he could win....Who's fooling who now. You can't play (permanently injured) in 4 tournaments a year and be competitive.

Scheffler said talking to his buddies before the final round he wanted to win, maybe too much. One of his friends said his victory was assured on the cross. Meaning, win or lose, he had already won.

That had to give the network boys and girls some indigestion.

Come in 60th place, and get $40,000? I’m in the wrong business.

“Tiger Woods looked physically ill. His face has literally changed. His swing still looks comfortable and strong. But, he walks like an elderly man in failing health.”

In the last tournament Tiger participated in before the Masters he ended play early. Since the auto accicdent he had suffered with plantar faciitis in his feet. After that he had surgery. It relieved the plantar faciitis but did so with fusion of bones in the ankles. Thus the stiffness we all noticed in his walking at the Masters.

I know he wants to still get out and compete, but I think it will continue to be difficult for him to win any additional titles again. I think he can still do great service to the game in orther ways and believe he will. I’d frankly rather hear him doing comments during a tournament than some of the talking heads we usually get.

Not a Woods fan, but you got to give him credit to make it through. He was in serious pain.

The LIV players did a best of 2 under par. Hahahahaha. I was rooting for any of the PGA players to win.

It probably cost him that much to rent a house in Augusta.

Not to mention the private jet, swing coach, caddie gets 10%, etc, etc.

CBS, The Masters and Augusta National make money just because he shows up. How many people follow just him around the course in comparison to any other golfer except the leaders on Sunday.

Scheffler is the whole package and will keep doing well for years.

The very interesting young Ludvig Åberg from Sweden did an amazing job too, coming in second for his first Masters.. Keeping my eye on him, looks like he has a great future.

Agreed about SS.

Was happy to see Lucas Glover - a guy anyone here would love if they knew him (goes through a tin of Copenhagen/round) did well. Wish he’d have made top ten, but...

Also Eric Cole - despite shooting 81 on Saturday - came back w/ a 73 on Sunday. Nice job by him making the cut in his first appearance. His caddy is Russ Cochran’s son and his Mom is none other than Laura Baugh.

Always love watching the Masters. Augusta Gold Course is so beautiful. Congratulations to Scotty, a great golfer, soon-to-be-daddy, and who also seems like a nice guy.

Jordan Spieth’s Waterloo seemed like it happened right here in 2016 on Sunday on the 12th hole. He went from leading the Masters to a quadruple bogey - scoring a 7 on the par 3 and losing. Seems like has never been the same since.

Tiger Woods is in self-destructive mode which IMO was caused by his obvious use of steroids at a much younger age. Sad.

“... He always said he wouldn’t enter tournaments if he didn’t honestly believe he could win...

He hasn’t been playng to win for years. He’s no longer competitive in the game but he sells products. He’s doing what most older golfers do, he’s playing for the bag. Most of the major contracts he had are now gone because they are supporting winners and not consistent last place finishers.

Most people that come out early to see players play early on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are more concened with how much cream is in their coffee than the players. That group is not the winners and have no chance of getting there in most cases after Friday and slim chance of making the top 20 after Saturday. They are playing to get the advertizements on their bags, hats, and clothing seen by potential cusotmers when they see it again later in the day. “Oh, yeah, I think I saw that on Tiger’s hat earlier.” Other names include Mickelson, Couples, D Johnson, Woodland, and Singh. They are no longer competitive golfers, they are business men selling their products.

Oh, I’m sure $40K is chump change to a man with Tiger’s expenses. I guess it can be argued that everyone who participates in the Masters is, well, a master, so it isn’t quite the same as a participation trophy.

It would be nice for Scheffler to get similar recognition, but a Bobby Jones or a Nicklaus or a Woods come only once in a generation.

Yes, but he did make the cut.
