“Reportedly, Florida passed laws to rein in squatters not very long ago. I’d be very very curious as to how those laws were approached and whether they have worked practically.”

The law, passed unanimously by the legislature, doesn’t go into effect until July 1. Not sure why the delay.

The law will work unless overturned by a federal judge somewhere. Squatter eviction will take one day; by the Sheriff.

The measure includes protection for genuine renters; landlords abusing tenant rights by claiming they are squatters can be held accountable by the courts - as they should.

If the other 49 states have any sense, they will adopt similar laws.

Thanks. It’s odd that State Legislators care more about criminal squatters than taxpayers.

My wife comes from Snow Bird country and her two remaining siblings are in their southern winter quarters and will return about 1 April.
