Reportedly, Florida passed laws to rein in squatters not very long ago. I’d be very very curious as to how those laws were approached and whether they have worked practically.

Not too smart for a person who believes in property rights to live in Portland, or any other Blue City, or Blue State.
Squatters are just part of the lawlessness that is enveloping the US thanks to George Soros and stupid voters electing his DAs and Ags. That is why I believe the teens are engaging in all kind of crimes, even murder, because they believe they won’t be prosecuted to the “full extent of the law”.

Not that it will happen, but the Republicans should pin the squatting movement on the Democrats, as they are CLEARLY behind this crap.
As with most Democrat crap, is there any other (supposedly civilized) country where a major politic party DEFENDS SQUATTERS.

Well, Joe did promise the invaders free housing.
I dodged a bullet on this one. Had a caregiver who I really liked who was helping me take care of my FIL. She was very good at that. Anyway, she had a period where her lease was up and she had a month before her new apartment was ready so I was going to let her live in my camper.
Later, I overheard her bragging about a friend who was a squatter and was able to live for years for free. I rescinded the offer making some excuse. Later, she tried to re-cash several caregiving checks. It was about $2000 total. Fortunately, I got the amounts reversed by the bank.
Just awful times we live in. Taking advantage of people whose father was dying in hospice. We really have a lot of sociopaths running around these days. 😞
