Unfortunately my wife is allergic to almost all antibiotics. Fluoroquinolones and sulfa drugs are about all she can take for infections of any sort. I’m pretty sure her doctor is aware of the dangers.

I have a husband who is just about the reverse.

Any sulfa drug will send him to the ER. Makes it fun when they have an infection huh? :)

I can take most antibiotics until recently. After shoulder surgery and months of PT I was feeling much better until I got a bronchial infection. I took Levaquin and in about three days my shoulder was aching like the dickens. Called the doctor and he told me to come in and said I had developed tendinitis and should stop taking the Levaquin immediately.

I had to go back into PT because of that. Ticked me off something serious. So now they are off my list.

Sadly, cipro is the only thing that works for me with UTIs. But now I usually have to take it maybe once a year (thank you, D-mannose).
