Can’t wait for the Kali commies to repopulate the grizzly bear…

My friend hunts deer and elk in Idaho and Montana, and besides his rifle, he and his friends carry 15 round Glock 10mm just in case a bear or other large critter gets up close and personal.
These kids should have had something similar.

And looking for sheds, they were scanning the ground with total focus. You can’t let your guard down out there.

My wife likes to go hiking in Georgia State Parks. I had to buy her a Lady Smith revolver for protection. A small all-steel footprint 5 shot 357 magnum (or 38 variety). Rangers will tell you that Georgia bears don’t kill, but they have.

Waiting for some brilliant retarded biologist to come out and announce that mountain lions are normally friendly and don’t attack people. “They must have been hungry or something.”

If someone wants to go into the wild unarmed, they do so at extreme risk.
Dying is one thing...Dying because you’re being eaten alive is not something I would risk.

The mountain lion was struck by the firearms by the sheriffs and now they are looking for the mountain lion. So this mountain lion is out there injured and dangerous. Wow. I hope they find this lion!

Even if you a complete pacifist. A pistol is a classic signaling device. The classic three shots.

I wouldn’t say it’s an extreme risk. Dogs are sometimes useful for finding sheds. Wouldn’t hurt to have the extra eyes and nose.

These days, all the world is "lion country." My motto is, "Don't leave home without it."

In the full article, they went after it, found it, and killed it.

9mm 16+1, 16, 13, defensive ammo should do the trick. That, and the two legged predators in the same area. Up-arming for black bear, prolly start with about 5 rounds of Buffalo Bore hardcast, followed by the regular stuff.

No griz in Cali.
Recommend Buffalo Bore for your friends. Gets 4.5 feet of penetration through Mr. Griz’s hide, bones and muscle without fragmenting before stopping in .357. Ymmv with 10mm.
Calling in the professional (Mark Twain) for review of the thread.

I wouldn’t say it’s an extreme risk. I'd bet these two victims would disagree with you.
