#12 is OK. Some find it too bright for comfort. #14 is hard to find (so I hear) in local welding supply shops. When I was a kid, the only acceptable easy to find alternative was exposed black & white negative film. I used that for the '63 eclipse. Try to find that now!

I’m near the Wisconsin border. Southern Illinois, around Carbondale is probably a 6-8 hour drive. Can’t afford to spend the night anywhere, so I’m good here.

I’m in the path of totality (yay!!) and am very excited! I am too. It’s going to get crowded ‘round here. We’re getting 4 minutes, 10 seconds of total eclipse and I have my $2 glasses.
And I’ll wear anything I damn well want. I’m thinking of going formal.
LOL - the eclipse t-shirt my friend gave me is black with a little color on the front. No red or green, though. Oh, well…I’ll count on my friends to wear brighter colors.
