This part of Long Beach was pretty seedy in the 1970’s. I lived in Belmont Heights for about 10 years - which was fairly nice area.
They revitalized the area by the old Pike with the Aquarium and many restaurants. It is usually a pretty safe area for family outing. Nice to see the PD out in force not letting it get out of hand.

Long Beach is done due to the fact it basically borders Compton, south central, Lakewood, etc...Even those living right the coast in LB with big bucks are no longer isolated from this social cancer.

I had 4 good friends who lived there. All are now gone except 1 who is now thinking of bailing.

Btw, just a week or two ago at a Belmont Shores restaurant in Long Beach, someone was stabbed to death in another gang style fight. Belmont Shores was once one of the nicest places left in Long Beach.
