The Collapse of Russian Arms Exports - Competitors, Ukraine & The Future of Russian Exports
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wdap15tWnfI ^ | 3/17/2024 | Perun

For decades, the USSR and then the Russian Federation competed with the US to dominate the global arms market. In 2023, according to SIPRI, Russia didn't even make the top five list of exporters.

In this episode, I look at the evolution of Russian arms exports in 2022 and 2023, examine the drivers, and look at some of the nations (like France) that have taken market share as Russia drops.

Two things:

1. They are using their own supply, and don’t have enough left to sell.

2. Some, maybe a lot, of the sales are off the books.

Another example of hopium abuse. Why would Russia be exporting arms if it was actively using them in its own war?

Well, duh! Cue up Captain Obvious! Russia needs its own arms because its fighting a war against NATO in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, our weapon stocks are depleted and at dangerously low levels and, unlike Russia, we lack the manufacturing capacity to produce what we need to fight a real war to protect our sovereignty.

The Russians were selling what often was proven in Ukraine to be ‘garbage’.

The Russians know they have to improve quality and they are probably doing so at a rapid pace.

They will eventually reenter the arms export business with improved product lines.

Reagan forced Russia into a position of overspending and almost decimated their economy. now they are returning the favor by helping us decimate our arms reserves. holding back their own arms while waiting until we are out is a strategic move that our favorite potato is heading right into. may or may not be on purpose but only the head potato and cronys would be able to answer that question.

How ridiculous! Yes, the Russians have been and continue to stockpile MASSIVE amounts of weapons and ammunition. Do you really think they are so stupid as to end up in the laughable, to the Russians and Chicoms, NATO position of being out of ammo in the middle of the largest war since 1945? No, the Russians are far from being that foolish. If you haven’t noticed, India, Africa, the Arabs and Global South are all now falling squarely into the Russian sphere. Ever hear of BRICS+? The rest of the world is watching outrageously overpriced and over maintenanced Western MIC weapons being test driven in Ukraine. Tens of billions of Western naval assets have proven worthless against the third worlder Houthis. You can buy a $100,000 artillery shell from the west or 30 precision guided 1000kg glide bombs from the Russians.
This article is MIC generated bunk.

Correct.

Their tanks, in particular, have been terrible.

Not that any tank is much more than a portable steel coffin in the modern battlefield, but the Russian tanks have been particularly bad.

"for money???"

Russia makes far, far more money off oil, agricultural products, another raw materials than it does with arms exports. It be the highest stupidity be exporting arms when they're fighting all of NATO and America.

Zeeper morons gotta be morons.

If Russian tanks are so bad thenwhy doesn’t America give the Ukrainian Nazis the M1 Abrams to just wipe them out. I suspect it because it doesn’t want the world to see our Uber expensive tanks burning on the Ukrainian steppe.

With troop carryable drones and missiles capable of taking out tanks supported by satellite reconnaissance the tank has become increasingly obsolete.

And yet, variations keep getting posted

Lets look at who is really paying for exported arms.

In the case of Ukraine…it is American and European taxpayers

So we are buying our own exported arms and running up massive debt to subsidize the MIC …quite a benchmark

The Russian tanks have an autoloader that holds the ammunition up high and exposed. They’re completely vulnerable to man portable arms and drones and basically anything. A Bradley (with its tiny gun) took out several Russian tanks all on its lonesome recently.

It’s just a horrible design that flows to through all their armored vehicles.

Note, the down armored M1s are also vulnerable in this era of drones, although not absurdly so like the Russian garbage.

I suspect that all Russia has to do is take whoever shows up from other countries to their GRAVEYARD of Western Hardware, DESTROYED by Russian weapons, to make their point (despite all of the Neocons chest-beating on Western Media).

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out Vlad has increased his massive manufacturing base for use against the collective West and NATO should they make a huge mistake.

Make no mistake, Vlad is fully prepared to strike Nato should they be foolish enough to attack Russia. Last year Vlad announced he had enough arms, ammo, manpower to last a full blown three year war…. As we are witnessing.

The collective West is woefully unprepared.

Modern-day Russia is NOT Soviet Union. I have no idea what you don't understand about that.

The Russian economy, despite Western sanctions, is growing a solid rate. There is no shortage of buyers for Russian natural resources. And, most importantly, the Russian economy is a free market one, not a communist one.

In fact, just the opposite is happening of what during the Reagan years -- we're the ones falling deeper and deeper into debt, a debt level that is unsustainable. We are running low on ammo and missiles and lack the manufacturing capacity to come close to fighting a real war against peer enemy. The rise of BRICS has the potential to greatly damage the dollar.
