EVs have been around longer than ICE vehicles. They never caught on and the superiority of ICE vehicles is why they succeeded in taking over the market. That superiority is still very apparent and in fact, still improving. EVs are a tool for the greenies and nothing else. If EVs were worth having, most people would have migrated their preference to them. Not gonna happen any time soon and perhaps never.
