I rekon that every male in my extended family should be dead from lead poisonong by now, and their gonads shrivelled up into dehydrated raisins. They all are healthy as of this writing.

All you have to do is shoot outside, wear shooting gloves which you can wash every once in a while.
Very few indoor ranges have proper ventilation , air circulation and filtration. These are easy to spot though.
I don’t have an indoor shooting range. I’ve never shot my gun inside my house. And most of my shooting is done with jacketed bullets.
I’d guess that, at a minimum, 95% of gun owners and shooters do not have an indoor shooting range at home.

With the elimination of lead in paint, lead in solder, and leaded gasoline, the lead levels in our environment area fraction of what they used to be.
The issue with children and lead mostly came from kid chewing on items that had lead paint. Not just casual encounters with it in tiny amounts.
Elevated lead levels are found in many criminal adults who make bad decisions.

Then all the more reason to avoid lead exposure to children. It is just in my experience that shooting and reloading have not affected my son or myself.

The government will use black boxes to test for lead exposure. No one will know how they work nor have anything to verify what the boxes read. I can imagine the boxes will have LEDs all over to give them a magic appearance. They will be attached to a long sniffer hose they will even use to sniff where the sunshine don’t shine—in case you are hiding something. The agent will say you are over the limit and you will say, “How is that? I haven’t been around any lead anywhere!” They will say, “It does not matter. We need your guns and ammunition and we’re going to take away your kids.” You will say, “I don’t own any guns and don’t have any kids!”
I can imagine the clowns tearing apart your house, looking for the non-existent kids, guns and ammunition.

Gee, I have been an avid shooter for about 65 years, a few hundred hours in indoor ranges, been a miner in underground lead mines for a few thousand hours, cast lead soldiers when I was a kid, done a fair amount of pewtersmithing, mostly with the cheap old stuff that had a lot of lead in it,
I’ve been a reloader / bullet caster for forty years, and done tons of electronics and copper pipe soldering with lead solders. (I hate lead free solders with a passion).
Never even thought to get tested for lead.
But just to be safe, I’d like to change from lead to depleted uranium for projectiles.... anyone know where I could get some cheap, other than going to Ukraine and collecting it off the battlefields?
If they really wanted to know, test the blood of people who actually own firearms.
See if there is a detectable and statistically significant difference.
They did not do that.
No mention of ammo.
