That would take an incredible amount of rocket fuel. You have to climb out of earth’s gravity well, then you have to negate all, or almost all, of the angular momentum associated with being in earth orbit.

Couldn’t they figure a way to launch it harmlessly into the SUN?orbital velocity is around 17,000 mph. Escape velocity is around 25,000 mph.
If you want to pay for the vehicle to grab it and then accelerate it to escape velocity, feel free to give Elon Musk a call.
