Doobies took a nosedive after he got involved. Just my opinion.

He sang like he had a mouth full of dirty sweat socks.

I used to like him until he showed his leftist panties.

Agree - his mouth filled with marbles singing style is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

What A Fool Believes would loop for eternity in my concept of Hell.

Same here. They were no longer The Doobies after that… a long way from China Grove…..

He always sounded like his voice was gasping for air or something... Kinda’ weird really and it was in every single syllable he ever sang.

Wow, so much vitriol for this great singer. He and Steve Perry, the two best singers of that era. Note perfect and soaring vocals when called for. Ronnie Dunn of Brookes and Dunn is similar. People that can just sing are what makes music wonderful.

Glad you liked it. Just not my cup of tea.

I just could never shake how far down he brought the Doobies. It always tainted my opinion of him.
