This is the BIGGEST bike you can buy, the 5XL Dirty Sixer All Road II. What happens when our shortest GCN presenter tries to ride it? Hank and our resident GCN giant, put this mega bike through various challenges, including a hill climb, top speed and braking test. How will the world's biggest bike perform?
I moved from SoCal to Texas, where the weather isnโt as accommodating so I spend most of the winter not riding. The trainer in the garage is like riding in the refrigerator, so I bought a peloton bike last year and the rides are a good workout, I am interested to see what effect it has on riding this year.
I lived at the edge of Orange and LA counties, there were a lot of separate-from-traffic bike paths I could ride. I donโt know what life is like at this point in San Diego, it was slower and easier down that way, the problem is the politics and taxation. Crime is out of control, and the police canโt do anything about it. My life goal was to retire in the coastal redwoods, but I would still be subject to the laws and cost of living. You might look at Colorado, there are literally bike trails everywhere, I think you can ride across the state on trails, and the scenery is amazing.
Sunsets!
Glad you enjoyed it. I wrote it for another site I frequent.
Buy a gravel bike, join spinistry, and ride all year in Texas on some of the funnest gravel roads in the country all year round!
The e-bike boom has hit a new landmark, with sales of electric bikes outperforming mechanical bikes in Germany in 2023.Such an outcome was predicted in the second half of last year but new figures from the Bicycle Industry Association (ZIV) now confirm thatโs the case.
A total of 2.1 million e-bikes were sold in Germany in 2023, accounting for 53% of the market, compared to the 1.9 million regular bikes sold.
In 2022, e-bikes were closing in at 48% of the market, but the growth has been dramatic over the last 10 years, with e-bikes accounting for just over 10% in 2013.
โWith regard to the e-bike as a market and innovation driver, companies from the German bicycle industry are now taking on a pioneering role worldwide,โ said Burkhard Stork, managing director of the ZIV.
โWhen it comes to e-bikes, 'Engineered in Germany' and 'Made in Europe' are the guarantees for engineering, design, quality, sustainability and value retention."
