Gotta get those heart donors somewhere.
Or....just another idiotic comic movie, this time geared to appeal to a hispanic/aztec/mayan audience.
WTF cares.
“Batman” is/was not a real person, in case you forgot. People getting all excited about comic movies in recent years ticks me off a bit, truth told. Why even bother to engage with that garbage?
If so, it will be just one more reason for me to not see it.
Notice that in the picture the victim is not an evil white Spanish conquistador, but a person of color.
Personally, I’m sticking with Christian Bale, Robert Pattinson and Ben Affleck as the caped crusader.
It’s always the evil white man.
Or
Evil German Nazis.
You need to be careful if you show blacks robbing stores, Hispanics in gangs, a Muslim terrorist, a Jewish banker / Lawyer screwing people, a homo that’s weird and a pervert.
He’s not a tranny? I am outraged. /s
Just a matter of time before the Azteca gods are adorned over the US Capitol and Whitehouse.
We already have the sacrifices of about 70,000,000 innocent souls.
[Batman is now Hispanic and he fights the evil White man.]
Is there gonna be a whole bunch of slavery and human sacrifice?
I cannot recommend highly enough an amazing book “The Hummingbird and the Hawk.”
I had a double major in college, Spanish and Archaeology. It did not take long to find out there is no way to pay a mortgage (or most any other bill) pursuing archaeology. I did get to participate in some excavations in Central America.
That said, there are amazing books that inform and entertain everyone. The Hummingbird and the Hawk details Aztec history from long before Cortez, and then the arrival of Cortez. There was a General, Tlacael, who had the ear of both Montezuma I, and Montezuma II. Cortez arrived when Montezuma II was in charge.
Another fantastic book is The Discovery and Conquest of Mexico, 1517-1521 by Bernal Díaz del Castillo. Castillo fought with Cortez for years. At the end of his life, he wanted to leave something. He was mostly blind, and dictated this amazing account from someone who was there.
It is an Otherworld story. Otherworld is DC tells stories about their characters in other situations.
I’m fine with Otherworld stories.
A man named Bernal Diaz del Castillo was with Cortes and wrote a book about the conquest of Mexico called “The True History of the Conquest of New Spain.”
The thing that struck me about his book - besides the savagery of the Aztecs and his descriptions of the mountains of skulls and bones from human sacrifice, was the perfectly normal gender roles of the Aztecs.
Here is a society completely untouched by so-called evil patriarchal Europeans - and it still turns out that men were warriors, high priests, rulers and builders, and women went to market, cared for children, were nurses, and organized children’s education.
I miss Adam West.
They got it all wrong. It’s Chupacabra Man.
Mexican Superman was pretty awesome- Check out Justice League: Gods and Monsters
Come up with your own heroes.
They can be any shade, of any ethnicity, any race or any sex that you can dream up. But stop ripping off the characters that were invented by others.
You just look like you have no imagination or are fricking lazy.
So is this Mexicans taking over Batman, or is it DC taking over Mexican heroes? Mexicans do have their own heroes and comic books. For some Mexicans, this must look like the Yankees trying to muscle in on their territory. Or maybe DC is taking away both your old Batman and the Mexicans’ opportunity to give their own heroes a mass market.
