In 2016 Trump ran on "Lock Her Up!" regarding Hillary's email server, destroyed phones, and classified documents.

Once he got into office he said that there was no reason to pursue Hillary.

That one error signaled to the Deep State that they could get away with whatever they wanted and Trump either wouldn't, or through their control of the FBI and the Justice Department, couldn't do anything about it.

This time I hope it's different, but I fear it won't be. Trump will be blocked from taking any revenge, and targeted even more this time around.

“Once he got into office he said that there was no reason to pursue Hillary”

Actually what he said was “that sounds good on the campaign trail but we’re not gonna do that”.

“In 2016 Trump ran on ‘Lock Her Up!’”

He didn’t. It was a chant at rallies, but it never was a campaign statement by him. At the debate he did say that if he were President, she’d be in jail already.

But not a campaign promise.

This is a preemptive strike by the Deep State.

By sounding the alarm that Trump will exact his pound of flesh from his enemies if elected, the Media now gets a free shot at Trump if he does go after the Leftist cabal. The message, “I told you so,” is a powerful tool when aimed at the simple-minded.

Why didn’t Trump “go after” miscreants when he took office? I seem to recall that every move he’d make in that direction (e.g. Comey, et al) was immediately construed by the left and the media (oops, redundant) as “obstruction of justice” w/ respect to the Russia collusion BS that began before day one.

He kept thinking that justice would prevail. I’d have thought that, too. We know otherwise now — beyond a shadow of a doubt. Trump is amazing. No other mere mortal could have withstood the relentless persecution and scrutiny for lo these 9 years and counting.

I’ve got his back b/c he’s got mine. God save Pres. Trump.

LOL! That was sort of funny. Several FReepers correctly predicted that there would be no prosecution.

Revenge was really the only thing to look forward to.

They would no longer have the second term to hold over his head.

Some folks believe that he did not pardon Assange and do some other things due to the intel/military complex running the nation making it clear that such an action would result in his never seeing a second term.
