Bet you can’t wait for Sense and Sensibility with a Black cast…
I heard about that. It is being produced by Hallmark so not worried about it toppling say Ang Lee’s version.
This woman has never been a fan of soap operas, and there are no TV “dramas” that hold my interest.

It’s the DM.
It’s shilling for the producers and distributors.
OUTLANDER
Only have seen one on the list. Death Comes to Pemberley was good.
Haven't seen the others and have zero desire to do so.
The books are so much better.
The series should have been at least as good as the books.
I couldn’t bear to read a list that probably included every version of Sense and Sensibilities ever filmed.
I assume the list did not include Monty Python and the Holy Grail, so the list is completely illegitimate

Yeah well, who made you king?
I didn’t vote for you!
Outlander jumped the shark when it jumped the ocean.
I stayed interested when they went to France and still had ties with what was going on back at home, and Claire had already jumped a few timelines, so I know it was all already within the original bounds of the show to have more transitions, but they lost me when they went colonial.
Best adaptation in the last 15 years was Kiera Knightly in Pride and Prejudice
Best multi part but not a Bodice Riper was Wolf Hall.
Watched Succession and Billions. Both were good.
I enjoy watching adaptations of good novels. I watch them when relaxing in the evening while knitting. I have seen Death Comes to Pemberley, Middlemarch, Larkrise to Candleford, the Borgias, Little Dorrit, the Sally Lockhart Mysteries, and Daniel Deronda. With the exception of the Borgias, I recommend each.
I saw the earlier versions of Poldark, Wuthering Heights, and the Buccaneers. I loved Poldark back in the 1970s and recently rewatched it after many decades. I may watch the remake when available on AcornTV or Britbox. I did not like the earlier version of the Buccaneers and no desire to see a remake.
I watched the first couple of seasons on Downton Abbey. I just never got the hype and no desire to watch the remaining seasons.
My favorite period drama is the PBS drama “I CLAUDIUS” from forty two years ago.
The second part of Wolf Hall is supposed to air this year.
Fascinating books. The first violates so many writing standards it is amazing.
I, Claudius is the best! I watched as a teenager in the 1970s and later rewatched. The lessons of power corruption is echoed today.
Although I do enjoy reading medieval mysteries (the Knights Templar series by Michael Jecks, and the Matthew Bartholomew series by Susanna Gregory), I'm not a fan of reading novels about historic figures. I prefer reading non-fiction history books that cite bibliographies and sources. One of the worst writers of historical novels is Philippa Gregory. I've never read her books, but have seen TV series based on her writings. She has a tendency to rely on gossip.
