BOONDOGLE
Nothing on WHY they are BROKEN................
The gangs will be charging people to use "their" charger.
I also envision a scenario whereby gangs go around unplugging chargers, damaging the cars, etc.
Heh, I keep having to remind myself (due to the volume of EV articles you begin threads on) that you aren’t one of these shills for EV that we occasionally see here on FR...quite the opposite.
I have concluded you are getting these out there into people’s faces, and I greatly appreciate that.
Keep up the good work.
How do I get into EV charger repair? I always wanted a few million dollars. $10 million.💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰
Is that labor included?
2,900 charging stations. 80,000 EVs. So one charging station for every 27.6 vehicles. Uhhhh ....
Wait ‘till Oregon’s’ junkies find out there’s something in them that can be stripped, stolen and sold.
Gas stations for a while started having fire suppression nozzles overhead near the pump area. Why not add those to every EV place? Or pass laws the charges cannot be close to buildings.
Note even plugged in at the time of fire. 11,000 gallons of water and large group working on the fire.

How much copper is in those charging stations? I know that Comcast had a problem with standby battery charging equipment used to keep the line amps working. Thieves would take the entire system—battery, charging transformer and power lines. The only way it was known the equipment was stolen was when line signal stopped when there was a power failure.
The way Comcast tracked the thieves was by putting GPS trackers inside the battery housing.
If you want an accessible, reliable network of charging stations, put the government in charge. LOLOL...
Yo! Illegal Aliens, there is a lot of copper in them there chargers.
No taxpayer money to fix private-owned charging stations.
I can snake an extension cord from my garage out to the street, and put a sign on it.
Charge Here.
Can I get some of that $10 Mill?
“there are about 2,900 EV charging ports available for public use in Oregon total”
how may tens of thousands of gas pumps? ... and remember it takes at least 10 times as long to charge an EV as to fill a gas tank, so however many tens of thousands of gas pumps there are, multiply that by a factor of ten (including parking slots) for a 100% EV fleet ...
As long as you don’t to go skiing or tow a trailer they are just impractical. Otherwise they are deadly. Still very good for Virtue Grandstanding in the Starbucks line.
Never mind whether or not CO2 is some evil climate killer, only a small percentage of CO2 emissions stem from transportation (ALL transportation, not just cars), so clearly more EVs on the road are NOT the best way to address some prognosticated climate change.
For some broken EV charging stations, fix them, and the copper thieves will be back real soon
