Putin had this guy under lock and key in a remote Artic prison. Why would he kill him at the worst possible time?

Navalny’s death has negative propaganda value at the exact same moment Congress is debating sending Zelensky $60B more in “aid”.

Now the neocons can use his death to generate moral outrage and sway members of Congress to vote in favor of more UKE funding.

Putin, the strategist, would have just waited.

I am not taking sides on this one. However, given that President Biden threatened devastating consequences if anything happened to Navalny, this would be an excellent way to make the President appear utterly impotent if he does not respond. Or a test of just how impotent he may be.

So, making the President look like a toothless, drooling bundle of senility could be why Putin would do it.
