Wasted fans have turned the infamously rowdy Waste Management Phoenix Open into a “s–tshow.”
That’s how at least one PGA Tour golfer described Saturday’s throngs at TPC Scottsdale, which briefly shut down alcohol sales at various locations around the course and stopped admitting fans around 2 p.m.
“S–tshows. Totally out of control on every hole,” South Korean-born golfer Byeong Hun An posted Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Yes I know what I signed up for,” An wrote in response to one fan, along with a shrugging emoji. “Played here multiple times over the years and it was fine until today. it’s just personal experience.”
There also were videos posted of fights breaking out in the galleries and fans chanting “We want beer” while alcohol sales were suspended, as well as one of a shirtless male fan diving into a sand trap."

Stupid idea, once they started allowing them to throw beet from the stands it should have been shut down, total embarrassment.
Who would expect anything more than a dumpster fire there?

Just another sign of the rot in our society. This is not going to end well.
I go ever year and it has gotten out of control. One of the problems this year was the rain delays. While the golfers wait the fans drink, and drink, and drink. By the time play resumed they are all drunk. You go to any sporting event they don’t serve alcohol for 12 hours straight. What do they think will happen. The other problem, they have built corporate tents on holes 9-18 leaving little room for General admission fans to go. So now the cart paths and small green/desert areas are overcrowded with lots of drunks, which creates an atmosphere for brawls.

How much is a beer and other adult beverages? General admission prices are $50 to $75 so that really isn’t enough to keep non golf fans from going..
Sounds like a lot of trash... goes well with the name.
