No entry level jobs anymore. Liberals polices are the most anti-humanity concepts one could experience.

I have less than zero interest in eating at such an establishment.
The other day I ate at a TGI Friday at DFW Airport. The waitress told me that I had to scan a QR code and manually enter all my credit card info to pay. Since she did less work, it was reflected in the tip. They sent me a survey after the meal and I noted that as well and that I wouldn’t be returning.
They responded with disappointment that I gave the waitress a lower tip. Hey, they made it so she didn’t have to do her job. Why should I reward her?
This AI restaurant will probably solicit tips.
There is a restaurant chain in Hong Kong called “Eat East” where you pay for an entre and then microwave it yourself. the only staff is the cashier.
They serve things like noodle and curry dishes that can be easily microwaved. Sort of a TV dinner store. It is actually rather good stuff.
The reporterette tries to imply that the business is costing people their jobs when it was politicians who upped the price of unskilled labor to the point of stupidity.

You are not their target customer anyway (the same for those that say they don’t like “fast food”. Just know you are the minority.
These places are going to exist because it is the only way to keep cost down and to provide meals at lower prices. The alternative is to go out of business.
The best alternative is for people NOT to eat out but prepare all meals at home (this was true when I was growing up in the 1950s, the first fast food hamburger was when I was in my teens and bought it myself) however today with both parents working fast food is what they turn to when they are too tired to cook.
When it was announced that California was raising the minimum wage to $20 I predicted this would happen, just did not expect it this fast.
They had some vending machines....in the basement. They had a French Fry machine...I decided to try it. They were GREAT!!!
I wonder if the machines are programmed to spit in my food if I’m wearing a MAGA hat.

Right. Those jobs are vital for students, and for folks just starting out. They are also vital for folks who unfortunately can do no better.

Right again. Liberals give no thought to consequences. Itâs always do what feels good at the moment. And whatâs worse, they refuse course-correct. So a bad policy becomes permanent.

If I can get pizza from a vending machine, why not a burger and fries?

If it was AI, it should be able to know what you want to order without you telling it.
I understand your point. But please donât take it out on the waitress. She doesnât set policy.
A rude waitress deserves little or no tip. But a good waitress caught in a bad situation deserves consideration. And I wouldnât be surprised if a waitress in a âmodernâ restaurant still gets legally paid less than minimum wage.
Anyway, I also understand your point about not returning. I visited a McDonalds about a month ago. All ordering had to be done by kiosk. I could not properly input what I wanted. It was too complicated. So I gave up. Maybe thatâs because Iâm an old, pre-computers guy. I wonât be returning there.
The tip is based upon the work done AND how well it’s done. Generally a waitress will take your order, bring your food and handle the bill. Since she only took my order and brought my food, she did less work and earned less tip. It’s not my job to pay someone else’s staff when I have to do part of their job.
