My uncle had season tickets to an NFL team in the 1970s and 80s. Eventually, he gave them up. He always said the games were fixed. I used to laugh at him. Recently, I stopped laughing. I think he was right.

My grandfather was the same way. Said the NFL was fixed and would only watch college FB.

The penalty that's the most subjective and has the biggest gray area is offensive line holding. When holding is called a certain number of times, some of those times it was called because there was a real hold, and sometimes just because.

Conversely when a game goes on for awhile without a lot of penalties except for flagrant PI and grounding and the like, the refs probably are letting some OLs get away with holding "just because" they're "just letting them play football".

Anyway, one doesn't dislike Patrick Mahomes but at the same time one is sick of seeing him in all those commercials on TV. Likewise one is actively disinterested in who some football player or some pop singer is doing business with. One is also not interested in any sort of alternative national anthem before a football game. For that reason one isn't sure if one is going to watch the Super Bowl or not. Even bet right now.
