I can't point to several places nearby that once hosted tree tunnels or that only exist partially now.
Trees get old. Storms knock them down.
This is how nature works.

The trees in Bregagh Road, near Stranocum, are on privately owned land.The UK's Department for Infrastructure said last year that an independent specialist survey had found that 11 trees, out of a total of 86, were in poor condition and could pose a potential risk to the public.
Maybe I'm missing something. If the trees are on private land, how could they pose a risk to the public? Are they Ents?
