Why must Trump be discredited and destroyed? That’s the ultimate question. What about Trump and/or his agenda is such an existential threat to them? China? Immigration? SCOTUS? Some combination thereof? Something else entirely? I honestly don’t know, but I’d love to hear some opinions.

Trump was villified because he could not be predicte, controlled or cowed. He was also doing thing that were anathema to them, but they could not easily stop it (until the Pandemic).

I honestly do think of Trump as kind of a superman. A mere mortal would have buckled and resigned under the pressure he faced as a result of Russia Gate.

I think that any future Republican presidents (assuming there are any) will be tested and villfied in much the same way. We will see the extent to which Trump serves as a model for them.
